Review: A classic, simple as that! - Creedence Clearwater Revival started a great short career with their self titled debut and shot up to legendary status with the truly excellent Bayou Country. With the release of Green River, Creedence Clearwater Revival did something that very few bands do. They followed up a flawless album with yet another flawless album. Green River is the second of three albums released in 1969. The original album, much like the other albums was produced by John Fogerty himself. The nine song track list continues to feature one of the most recognisable sounds in music history with a number of rock favourites. Here you find songs like the title track, Commotion, Tombstone Shadow, Bad Moon Rising, Lodi and The Night Time Is The Right Time. The album sits just short of thirty minutes long and is about as perfect as a rock album can be. Something that Creedence Clearwater Revival was very good at the time. I am having a hard job trying to find something bad to say about this album. The fact it's so short is about as far as I can go. But with the added bonus tracks, Broken Spoke Shuffle and Glory Be, Green River easily corrects that issue and I then have nothing to complain about. I adore the sound the album has, I love every song and think it's one of the finest albums out there. The remastering is fantastic and considerably better than the high treble copy I had before. I'm not being a fan boy when I say that this is a must buy for any rock fan. It's a simple truth. The band released six great albums and this is bang smack in the middle of that impressive run. You owe it yourself to pick it up.
Review: CCR Just brilliant - I’ve always really loved CCR. I’ve had the Chronicles albums in my collection for years, those albums are a great starting place for discovering this great bands music. However, I recently heard Cosmo’s Factory complete for the very first time, and I wanted to discover more. I came on desertcart and Immediately purchased 4 of the bands Back catalogue albums, one of those was of course Green River, This album was one of 3 that CCR recorded and released in 1969, they were certainly working hard, and it has already becoming one of my favourites. Notable songs on this album - Green River, Commotion, Bad Moon Rising And it’s B Side - Lodi, A great selection to begin with, but then we get the brilliant country flavours of Cross Tie Walker & Tombstone Shadow. Also included here is a brilliant Ballard, perfectly sung by John Fogerty - Wrote A Song For Everyone, The album rounds off with some extra bonus tracks, Green River is a really solid album and I’m absolutely loving discovering this great bands work in more detail!, Recommended highly!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent CCR CD.
*by D***E on 8 December 2024*

If memory serves, this was CCR's second studio album. A good selection of their hits & some not. An album worth keeping if you are looking to get into CCR, unlike Creedence Clearwater Revial's self titled first offering which I assume used the original master tape when it was cut & the sound was a bit flat.
