These work smashing on the gas hob and I have had no problems with them. The bottom of the pots are a rough design, I'm assuming for the fact they are going directly on to the gas. They are the normal weight of my other glass cook wear and a lot lighter than my cast iron. They are easy enough to clean, even when I sometimes burn the bottoms or have food sticking to them. We have used glass saucepans etc for +35 years and have found them to be superior to metal pans as, if kept properly, they do not stain, and they keep their non-stick properties if not subjected to over-heating.
