Great value product
I wasn’t expecting much from the price I paid but it totally beat my expectations. It’s veryAccurate at finding joists cables and water pipes and even tell you the distance it’s much better than the Bosch one I used previously.

Better than expected - did the job
Most DIY forums say that there's nothing to detect studs reliably, so I wasn't expecting much from this. However, I took a punt and bought this to fit a ceiling clothes rack. It found 3 studs in my ceiling relatively accurately after a few passes of the device over the ceiling. Sometimes it didn't pick anything up but I kind of took an approximation of where the studs were from several attempts and then drilled tiny pilot holes to verify. It's best if you calibrate it first on a area where you know there's no studs (e.g. by tapping). It's quite expensive but it saved me a lot of worry and hopefully I can use it for other jobs.

Works very well (in specific types of walls)
I have studded partition walls with plasterboard (no wall insulation). This tool works perfectly for finding my copper pipes, cables and studs. Centering is spot on. I have never missed a stud yet. Build quality is sufficient for DIY. Read the manual for correct usage and use common sense combined with the readings. If you see a socket or radiator on the wall (or other side of the wall) for example, you can expect pipes or cables right? Combine this foresight with the readings from the tool to accurately map the wall.... One downside (which does not really affect me) is that if you have wall insulation inside the partition, forget it. I tried using it to find a stud in a friend's home (with wall insulation) and got zero reading from pipes, wires or studs.

Accurate and Easy to Use
This wall scanner is easy to use and works very well. The display is clear, and it quickly detects wood studs, metal pipes and live wires behind the wall, giving me much more confidence before drilling. It feels solid, is lightweight and fits comfortably in the hand. The different scanning modes are simple to switch between, and the detection is accurate after calibration.A very useful tool for DIY projects and home renovations. It has saved me time and helped avoid drilling in the wrong place. Excellent value for money and highly recommended!

The most useless piece of junk ever made!
This is hands down the most absolute trash device ever created in human history. It is completely untrustworthy and dangerous.I tested it directly on a live electrical outlet, as well as above and below it. The red alarm went off, but as soon as I placed the palm of my hand on the wall next to the device, the alarm completely stopped and turned from red to green! This is an absolute nightmare—it could easily lead to a deadly accident. To make matters worse, I put it on a solid concrete wall and the "wood detected" alarm went off! 😂 On top of that, the electricity alarm keeps beeping pretty much everywhere on the wall. I was able to locate the drywall screws easily using a simple magnet, yet this device failed to detect the wooden stud right behind those exact screws. You are literally safer and better off working without this useless tool.I have never seen such a pathetic piece of junk in my entire life. I have no choice but to give it one star, but consider yourself warned: buying this is the absolute worst purchase you will ever make in your life

Reliable Stud Finder with Room for Improvement
The HANMATEK Stud Finder SF1 Wall Scanner is a 4-in-1 electronic stud sensor that promises accurate stud detection. While it performs adequately in most situations, I did encounter some issues when using it on the ceiling. The stud finder features multiple scanning modes, including stud detection, metal detection, AC wire detection, and deep scanning. In most cases, it accurately located studs within walls, making it a useful tool for various projects. However, when attempting to locate studs in the ceiling, I found that the accuracy was inconsistent. The stud finder missed a few studs, which led to frustration and additional time spent trying to find them manually. This limitation may be due to the angle of the scan or the density of materials in the ceiling. On the positive side, the stud finder is compact, lightweight, and easy to handle. The LCD screen provides clear and intuitive readouts, making it user-friendly. The built-in marking feature allows you to note the detected stud locations for convenience during the project. The battery life is decent, providing sufficient power for extended use. The device also includes a handy auto-shutoff feature to preserve battery when not in use, which is a nice touch.Overall, while the HANMATEK Stud Finder SF1 Wall Scanner performs well for most stud detection tasks, it falls short when it comes to accurately detecting studs in the ceiling. For wall applications, it is a reliable tool. However, if you primarily need to locate ceiling studs, you may want to consider alternative options or rely on manual methods for greater accuracy.Pros:Multiple scanning modes for versatilityCompact, lightweight, and easy to handleClear LCD screen for easy readoutsBuilt-in marking feature for convenienceCons:Inconsistent accuracy in locating ceiling studs

Confiable!
