If the light only works when plugged into the charger then the battery is bad. There is a fuse in the charge plug and a fuse in the light. Those would be the next thing I would check. Go to Towmate's website and you can find the troubleshooting instructions. The light has a lifetime warranty and the battery has a one year warranty from Towmate so if all else fails call them and get a return number.
