Hans Zimmer is one of the most successful film music composers working today. His multi-award winning career reaches back to the mid-80s and he has developed close working relationships with renowned directors such as Ridley Scott, Michael Bay, Ron Howard and Christopher Nolan. This concert was filmed on May 7th, 2016 in Prague during his hugely successful European concert tour. Hans was accompanied by a band, orchestra and choir, 72 musicians in total, including Johnny Marr of The Smiths. Review: What a Fantastic Experience! - I'm a huge fan of Hans Zimmer's film work. I'm beyond ecstatic that I purchased this disc. It is difficult to find quality Blu-ray concerts where both the audio and video are superb. This is one! If you crave a phenomenal home concert experience get this disc. Every part of my little 5.1 home theater system was showcased to it's maximum. The new 85" TCL, the old B&W speakers and old SVS sub were at their absolute best because of the quality of this Blu-ray. The concert was so much fun and engaging. I love when you can tell that the musicians are having an absolute blast as they perform and they most assuredly did. I've been doing a lot of streaming but fell back in love with the old Oppo player again. This concert disc just replaced Lee Ritenour Overtime as my best concert. Superb audio and visual, fun and no changing camera angles every 1.5 seconds making me dizzy. Review: Damn Good! - Saw this show live in August 2017 in Cincinnati and was happy to see it released on video. By far one of the best performances I have ever seen. The music is fantastic and there are aspects of it that should appeal to fans of almost any genre. My complaints are very few and minor. 1. This is from the 2016 tour and doesn't include the Wonder Woman or Thelma & Louise themes which were added during the 2017 tour. I'm hoping that doesn't mean they'll be releasing a whole new video later that we'll have to purchase if we want those two songs. 2. No access to the audio only when you purchase the DVD or Blu-ray. 3. The only performance I was a little disappointed with was the Dark Knight theme. That is by far one of my favorite Hans Zimmer sound tracks but it left out some of my favorite parts. And when they get to the part I enjoy listening to the most Hans decides to give a speech. Don't get me wrong, the subject of the speech is very touching and I have no problem with anything he says. None of it was political or anything like that. But I personally would have enjoyed it more if he had saved the speech for when the music was over. Again, those are just minor complaints. In this age of entertainment where music has become pure trash (in my opinion) it is very refreshing to listen to, and watch, so many people on a stage who have such raw talent and use so many different instruments to make it all come together.

The concert Blu-ray experience bar has been raised, what an Atmos track!
Watching this on a 4K Panasonic OLED, the disc leaps alive thanks to the copious amounts of black level found on this Blu-ray. It looked great on my Panasonic 1080p TC-P60VT60 plasma, but it's on another level moving to OLED. What a shame this wasn't a UHD disc, would pop even more with HDR. The star here is the Dolby Atmos track, it's so uncanny how good it sounds, the surround mix is terrific. Performances are off the hook, so many instruments you don't see used on a daily bases in popular music are on display here, like Tubular Bells and whatever that awesome little stringed instrument is that's used in the final part of the Gladiator segment which is my fave. The pummeling onslaught of the Man of Steel track, the crowd faves from Chris Nolan's Inception and Interstellar and the smiling faces when Lebo Morake walks out singing the never correctly imitated opening phrase from The Lion King. So many recognizable moments here from Zimmer's storied career and while he's not exactly a rock and roll frontman, you can see he enjoys so much what's going on. It's tasteful, it's unique, it's hard to turn your gaze away from this amazing concert. The Dolby Atmos track here is reference, your subwoofers will enjoy the workout, the picture quality for 1080p SDR is magnificent and truly there's nothing left to say other than this is an easy 5-star must have reference recommendation.

Hans Zimmer has spent the last 30 years composing and producing an incredible variety of music for movie scores. His music moves and inspires the listener. He has also mastered the art of recording his music, capturing every detail and nuance with the highest order of sound quality for the cinema. On this DVD you will see, hear and feel the most spectacular band/orchestra/choir assembled on one stage—72 of the world’s finest musicians, using many types of instruments from around the world. It is truly a memorable experience. The visuals and light show are amazing. But for me, the best part is the sound quality. The audio on the Blu-ray was carefully mixed and perfected with Dolby Atmos, to provide a full and flawless range of sound. If you have a quality home theater system with surround-sound, you will be amazed at what it can do. Finally, audiophiles will have a DVD with which they can show off their system. If I could give an extra star for overall quality of this DVD experience, I would.

If I could only remember one concert from my lifetime, this would be it.
Audio CD review referenced below - The Blu Ray adds the lighting interpretation in addition the the audio tracks. While I love the Blu-ray, I feel like a lot of the communication from the amazing lighting effects applied to Blu-Ray was "lost in translation" for lack of a better term. I was in awe at the live concerts. If I were to choose between the audio CD and Blu-Ray, I would definitely get the Blu-Ray for the few extra bucks to get to see these amazing artists' visual performances. Hanz Zimmer amassed some of the most talented people on the planet for these performances, this video is a great addition to any library. audio disk review: Honestly the best concerts I have ever attended. The CD may not be appreciated without reference of the live concert experience. Both the Prague and Santa Barbara concerts really shined through as unique, I only wish the Santa Barbara concert was recorded as well to catch the unfiltered spirit and community of this multicultural and amazing cast. If you are looking for a reinterpreted "rocked out" version of some of Hanz Zimmer's best works, this is it for sure.

Moving, nearly perfect
I've been an avid Zimmer fan for nearly two decades, and I can honestly say that even though I've listened to his pieces thousands of times, this concert really moved me, in particular the Gladiator suite. Now, why isn't this a 5-star product? 1) I had to fiddle with the audio settings quite a bit to get it as near perfect as possible. First, make sure you go into the disc setup to use ATMOS (even if you only have 5.1 like me). I also had to muddle with the audio delay setting on my receiver to get the audio in sync with the video. 2) At times parts of the performance sounded as if a studio recording was overlayed on top of it. This could be a result of the video quality (grainy) not matching the audio quality (superior) or a slight disconnect between the audio and video. I say this when comparing it to something like Dave Matthews' Live at Radio City Music Hall disc where the picture and sound quality were equal, making everything feel "real." 3) Whoever edited the video spent an inordinate amount of time focused on three specific musicians when I would have appreciated seeing more of the orchestra. It was odd seeing cutaways to particular string members when the horns were clearly the focus at a particular point in time. At any rate, this is a great addition to any collection.

Great live concert recorded in Dolby Atmos
This is what I was looking for - a live concert with a full band and orchestra, that makes good use of Dolby Atmos recording technology. Some songs were useful in tuning speaker positions on my system. Will be listening to this Blu-Ray often.

Great showcase for visual and sound equipment.
The fact you’re looking at this likely means you’re a fan of Hans Zimmers music. This production is a visual treat and the Dolby Atmos sound track delivers a great concert experience in your home. I didn't listen to the 2 channel track but the Atmos track is dynamic and enveloping but fortunately not with any gimmick effects. It just works well with the dynamics and intensity of Zimmers music. There’s a great mix of various music and the musicianship as expected is top notch. Even non audiophile watchers were impressed. With the right equipment this can be an impressive and very enjoyable show. Enjoy
