The more coats you apply the more db attenuation will be created. The paint has very high resistance with low conductivity. Apparently there are forms of microscopic glass spheres in the paint that reflect the emf kind of like a metal pipe would do. But of course the reflection is lower with this paint if you compare it to a steel pipe. The paint has no metal in it and it has high resistance so grounding the paint is useless. The paint is useful in tight areas were fabrics cannot be applied. Or if the shielding needs to be applied outside in weather. Fabric will shield EMF better than this paint. However this product seems to work well if the directions are followed exactly. Review: Works exactly as it should. - I build solidbody guitars, and this paint is quick to apply, dries fast, and I just have to make sure it contacts a ground inside the guitar control cavity. When the test is having a new guitar sitting under two cheapo Home Depot shop flourescents being tuned for the first time, and hearing absolutely no hum, you know this stuff is doing its job. Recommended for anyone who needs to stop RF. And the water-base formula is a great bonus, but I will say it does stick to anything it touches. The smart meter/electric panel is other side of bedroom wall. I painted section of wall (and more) where meter is on the inside wall. Multiple coats and grounded it (with Yshield products). Tested with a EMF meter every step of the way. Nothing changed.
