Great bit of equipment
Only installed it a few days a go but im impressed how well it secures my network, still allowing vpn to connect. i contacted support they reply fast, but I had already figured out a solution as the Clients are best to pointing to he MT2500A for the gateway, easy to install and straigtforward to setup, using OpenVPN connect on remote machines works stable, would recommend

FINALLY!! A device that works..., for me.
I have tried a RPI (tricky & unreliable), Asus AC-88U (slow, max 44 MB/s OVPN only) for my VPN.Stumbled upon this and thought I would give it a try. Perfect for me. Connection via Ethernet from my SKY modem/router, enabled VPN client on device (Mullvad), any that supports Wireguard or OVPN (will be slower though) will do and connected to my ASUS router via Ethernet & Bob's your uncle, it works.Speeds from 250 MB/s (using the Asus as theWiFi router) via WiFi up to 450 MB/s via Ethernet. I only have a 500 MB/s line.I am over the moon with this device as it delivers all I need for my house needs. If you are looking for an easy to use and reliable & fast gateway VPN device, this is it.

Excellent product and amazing service
Thank you very much, works perfectly. I was unable to figure out how to set it up properly, and the customer service was excellent, first trying to guide me via email, and thereafter having a call with me and assisting me in setting it up. Thank you, very much appreciated! :)

Outstanding Support and 2x Performance Upgrade
I want to start by thanking the GL.iNet support team — Nora, Riley, and Zoey — for their excellent service. My Brume 2 was just over 2 years old and unfortunately failed, but the team handled everything very professionally. Troubleshooting was clear and responsive, and the replacement process was smooth and fast. I really appreciate them going the extra mile to sort this out.Performance-wise, I’m very happy with the device. In my setup, I use it as a dedicated router (routing + DHCP) alongside a managed switch where I handle IGMP snooping, STP, and other network optimisation. With a Deco WiFi 6 mesh and around 100 devices, it performs significantly better than my previous TP-Link ER605:* ER605: ~300–350 Mbps* Brume 2: ~700+ Mbps (WiFi 6)Overall, a great product backed by excellent customer support. Highly recommended.

Great for price but didnt do what i wanted it to do
Great mini router, user-friendly interface, had issues with the VPN set up, doesn't allow you to load an encrypted VPN token but was fine with off the shelf VPN click/drag

Solid device, even better support
My Brume 2 did brick after almost 2 years due to a firmware upgrade issue, but honestly, GL.iNet support was outstanding – they guided me through recovery steps and eventually replaced the unit, nearly 2 years after I bought it. That kind of customer service is rare.Aside from the firmware hiccup, the device worked flawlessly and did exactly what I needed it to do. I’m not put off at all – I’ll be using the replacement just as much. Great little box with solid features and even better after-sales support.

Connect to home server from outside world
Rather than use it as a client to get VPN internet, I used it the other way round - to get to my HOME LAN from the outside word. Worked a treat and Wireguard is super easy and fast - no messing with OpenVPN keys and its super slow transfer. If you've tried to set up wireguard app yourself and ended up with isolated subnets, then this is easier to set up.I added this AFTER my router, rather than before it, since I am happy to let my main router continue to handle DNS, Digital voice, All I wanted was the VPN and I can hang it off any switch on the LAN.The device is quite heavy for a small unit - all that ARM processor goodness inside! The device allowed me to switch on Wiregaurd on my mobile app and connect to my home LAN (and whatever sits on the LAN) from outside my home. is all accessible. You configure the unit by plugging your laptop to its LAN port only. Configure it, then Place its WAN port to your router or switch, that is if you don't want to use it as a full router, I mean. I couldn't be bothered using the LAN to log into its 192.168.8.1 subnet, so I just chose its option of allowing the admin to be accessible from its "WAN" side on port 80 (which is connected to my LAN, not the outside world). Thus I have 1 cable from its WAN to an internal switch and nothing on the LAN side and it becomes another 192.168.1.n device on my home network. When I connect to it via VPN, I see all devices on my LAN too.HOWEVER... after 1 year, the device just stopped working. I tried the factory reset: no good. I tried the UBrick reboot method to load original firmware, but it was totally dead. Would have been easier just to create a docker VM on my server.

Very low power usage, and Excellent performance
This thing has Very low power usage, and Excellent performance. It is a very advanced router, without WiFi. It uses 1-2 watts using it as a router. It's very easy to configure with many advanced features. The RAM and Flash memory are unusually large, so you can use it for a network that has a massive number of devices with all kinds of special rules for routing if you like, and it's solid. I looked for years for this kind of device. Finally I found it.

Great little router for Tailscale
I bought the GL.iNet MT2500A mainly to use with Tailscale, and it has been excellent so far. Setup and configuration were quick and painless. Most settings can be handled directly through the native GL.iNet web GUI, which makes it very user-friendly.There were only a few small things I needed to do via terminal, but nothing too difficult. Once configured, Tailscale worked smoothly and reliably. Overall, a great compact device for anyone wanting an easy Tailscale router setup.
