No problems with hot brass melting the net. You have to adjust the bracket mount of the catcher to fit an available picatinny rail slot. On my AR's with scopes, the mount is in front of the first scope ring. With flip-up metal sights, right after the rear sight. With a prism scope, it's front of the scope. Two screws on the catcher clamp are simple to adjust for different positions or just buy additional ones for different setups.
