Review: Just as good as Gavsicon Double Action - yet half the price! - Shocked at how much the price of Gaviscon Double Action liquid has gone up over the past year I decided to search for a replacement. Reading various reviews, this proved to be harder than I expected especially as I needed a replacement for the Double Action Gaviscon, not the basic Gaviscon liquid. Decided to try Peptac. And I have to say I am delighted with my choice. Its a little bit more viscous that Double Action and it most certainly has a more pepperminty taste. Its actually more pleasant to take the the Gaviscon was. The results? Well in my experience its no better and certainly no worse that Gavsicon Double Action. Its every bit as good and its half the price. Result!

**Q: Does it have artificial sweetner in - Aspartame or Phenylalanine.**
A: neither one of those ingredients are listed on the bottle as being contained in this medicine.

**Q: Is this sugar-free?**
A: It does contain "saccharin sodium" which could be some type of sugar??  I must admit that I now get mine from a different place (sorry Amazon) but I had a few broken bottles from Amazon & the other place have a lot better packaging that can be recycled.

**Q: My last purchase,was so thick it would not pour, anyone with similar problem please.**
A: This is the first bottle I have ordered online. My liquid was thick but pour able. You could try adding a small amount of cold water and shaking the bottle a few times.

**Q: Why can I not buy this in my local chemist without a doctors prescription?**
A: Hi. This product is not a POM  (prescription only medicine; therefore you should be able too. It has however been unavailable recently from wholesalers.

I've ordered this a few times for my husband. He says it's no different to the more expensive branded versions. It taste fine, works well (and provides relief quickly) and there's plenty in the bottle. We will order again, happy to recommend.
