Easy to play, great sound! - I've been playing chromatic harmonica for a while now, mostly classical music and violin pieces, and I decided to try the CX12 out of curiosity – and I'm honestly blown away. The mouthpiece is smooth and very comfortable, making clean articulation much easier, especially when shifting between fast passages. Sound-wise, it’s bold, warm, and a bit louder than I expected (in a good way). Notes respond quickly with very little effort, and the air-tightness is excellent. The slide action is buttery smooth. It almost plays itself. Cleaning is also a breeze – literally just a couple of clips to pop the cover off, which is a huge plus if, like me, you like to keep your instruments in clean condition. Some people say it’s better for jazz or modern music, but I find it works beautifully for classical as well. The tone is expressive and precise, and the lower register is surprisingly rich. I previously owned a Hohner Super Chromonica Chromatic Harmonica in the key of C, and my opinion is that the CX12 is well and truly a superior instrument, despite both of them being very similar in price. Is there some trick to 'unstick' it or is it just broken?** A: Well I gig with mine regularly, and sometimes the body seems to 'flex' and then the slider goes stiff. The rear panel slides sideways and 'unclicks' and then the inner assembly comes out completely. I lubricate mine with a tiny amount of olive oil and that does the trick. I will say though - it is CRUCIAL that everything is lined up correctly when you push the innards back together. It usually takes me four or five goes before it is correct!! (otherwise bending the notes proves impossible). Good luck. I would just like to add that the harmonica featured in the video is a Hohner Marine Band in the key of G. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good instrument *by A***L on 24 May 2014* I tend to use CX12's as I love the sound, although I've generally found that they are less durable than the typical metal body Chromatics which seem to go on forever.
