This was because I only occasionally purchased cut flowers. This year I've planted many varieties of Dahlia's and I'm enjoying cutting them to bring indoors. Immediately I noticed that my cut flowers were only surviving 3 or 4 days, even if I changed the water and re-cut the ends.
