Fabulous! I love bags and have decided to take making and designing seriously. Good place to start! the very bag I was planing to make was there.in part Very helpful breakdown; designing, components, making up pattern pieces then the final construction. Not the only book you will need, but fairly in depth and easy to follow

Well illustrated,good overview
Having read two other titles from the Thames & Hudson 'Fashion Design Course:...' series I can say that this series is getting better and better! ':Accessories' is very well illustrated with step by step illustrations and photography. The book covers HANDBAGS, FOOTWEAR, MILLINERY and SMALL LEATHER GOODS. There is also an in-depth chapter covering 'The Creative Process' and a final chapter entitled 'Resources and Professional Practice' which is geared towards students and postgraduates. Each chapter has a selection of exercises challenging the reader to build on what they have learned from the literature. There are also glossaries at the side of pages to help you with new words. Each chapter has a section of accessory-specific designers and brands. Having studied fashion design in college I can say that this is the closet you can get to doing a course without doing a course. It is surprisingly in-depth and well laid out. This is perfect for a student as an accompaniment or for anyone who is considering doing a course of study in accessories!
