He is strong enough now to have no problem with the slide switch and has learned to switch off after "use" to save the admittedly expensive batteries. Most electrical toys nowadays have a feature which automatically powers off after a few minutes and this would be an improvement. The plastic construction is not particularly strong and several repairs with glue and tape have been required. Fun per pound? Still 5 star. Very happy with this toy ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fab fun but flimsy *by M***U on 1 May 2009* Immediately became a firm favourite with my one year old son - toy of choice 50% of play time. Fantastic that it really picks up bits with nossle attachment (very noisy doing so though). Sadly played with by visiting friends (aged one and two - who also loved it) who are a bit rougher and quickly the plastic that fixes the front on broke so will not push forward. So much play value though going to have to get another for my son - he loves it that much!
