It was getting expensive buying a regular supply of the big brand filters, even when on sale. These are excellent replacements and filter just as fast and as good as the big brand. The affordability means I don't mind keeping up with regular replacement costs. I really do taste the difference between tap water before and after filtered through this. It's a much "cleaner, more mineral like, fresh" taste. They've also stopped me from buying bottled mineral water AND as I live in a hard water area, I don't have to change the Maxtra filter in my Brita filter kettle either which is looking much less limescale-y so I so I don't have to change the kettle filter as often as before as the water going into it has already been filtered. Very easy to click each filter into place as before too. Compatible with any Maxtra filter device. However, these are identical to brita maxtra filters so if they work these will as well. **Q: Are these recyclable like the Brita ones?** A: Hi, these are currently not recyclable however this is something we are looking into. I'm only giving 4 stars because of the little green valve. It's not that it's fiddly. it's just that I have to tell me kids to make sure that doesn't go in the bin or the filter won't work.
