Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the longawaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World. Colin Trevorrow directs the epic actionadventure based on characters created by Michael Crichton. The screenplay is by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, Trevorrow and Derek Connolly and the story is by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers. 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park (1993), Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World , as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to respark visitor's interest, which backfires horribly. It comes only in blu ray 3D and digital HD ultra violet. Review: Amazing, sharp 3D visuals, funny with plenty of action at a great price, well worth it. - Great movie to showcase 3D, lots of depth all throughout the movie, good blend of action, comedy & breathtaking visuals, I watched it with my 12 year old nephew and we both really enjoyed it, one of the best 3D movies I've seen. As stated in the description it also comes with a code so you can watch the 2D version in High definition if you want. I will be watching this again in the future as the brilliant depth of the 3D along with the movie itself means it's worth seeing again for sure. I have the original Jurassic Park in 3D, it's nothing compared to Jurassic World the 3D technology has come a long way since the original movie was released. This 3D bluray is great value for money and it arrived quickly, so along with everything else I've stated this deservedly earns a solid 5 stars from me. Review: The 3D + 2D blu-ray is on its way - UPDATE 30/11/2015 desertcart have resolved this issue and are sending a complementary copy of the new 3D + 2D blu-ray release to all customers who pre-ordered. I will therefore amend my 1 star review to the 5 stars that the film deserves. Shame on Universal for attempting to stiff their British audience, but much respect to desertcart who have obviously heard the complaints of their customers and pressed for this much-better-than-expected resolution. The movie itself is probably the best one of all of them made to date
Amazon UK was superb in sales and delivery to Arizona. The movie itself is probably the best one of all of them made to date. The improvement in the animatronics is fantastic. The computer-generated imagery by Industrial Light & Magic with Stan Winston at the helm of the animals was the best yet. I understand another is due out in 2018 and I cannot wait to see just they can figure out any improvements in the CGI.... Great movie and the box office receipts back that up....

Fantastic film, great 3D - shame about the lack of 2D disk
The 3D Blu-Ray has really divided me on this review. If i was reviewing the film alone, this review would be a 5 star. That may seem overenthusiastic, given the various shortcomings of the film, but when I first left the cinema having seen it I did so with a giant smile on my face and a wish to see it again almost instantly (which I did the next week...) and there aren't too many films that make me do so. The 3D effects really pop and in my view actually add to the film, rather then being a distraction. The animation is top notch and the pace rarely lags. Jurassic World falls firmly in the category of blockbuster crowd-pleaser. It certainly isn't going to win any oscars and the plot holes are numerous and often glaring. The film has its tongue firmly planted in its cheek, lambasting commercial sponsorship with the script, while simultaneously presenting the audience with the Samsung Innovation Centre at Jurassic World. It also takes aim at the audiences and what they increasingly demand from films: "The first park was legit. You didn't need any genetically modified monsters, just dinosaurs." There are some great references back to the first three films, which all serve to create a feeling of nostalgia, and its great to see a vision of the park actually up and running. The chemistry between the two young brothers doesn't quite get there, and is a relatively poor substitute for Tim and Lex from Jurassic Park. Similarly, while Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard do a great job in my view as the adult leads, they don't really have any character development and end the film apparently unchanged from as they were at the beginning. Some characters seem to dissolve into cliche, especially the only character to return from the previous films. I don't want to give anything away for the few people who probably don't know, but by the time the individual responsible for the carnage comes to discuss his errors, coldly and indifferently while pouring cups of herbal tea, you feel it's something more worthy of Blofeld than the character they were previously. However, the real kicker which has resulted in the star deduction, is the package contents. Unlike every other 3D Blu-Ray I have ever purchased (and I've purchased many), the box does not include a 2D Blu-Ray. Open it up and all that's in the box is the 3D disk and the UItraViolet code. There is a legitimate question to be asked as to why you would buy the 3D version wanting to watch it in 2D but it is an option that the customer really should have. In my case, I love 3D films but my parents struggle with watching them and my fiance prefers the 2D in any event. Ultimately, the UltraViolet provides an HD 2D version if you have the facilities to use it. I do, but the convenience is lacking. In the film's defense, the box does not say a 2D version is included, but nobody is really looking at the little words at the top of the box on the website, especially given as I have never known this to be the case before.

Rip-off Universal/ Update resolved
Like the other views expressed here I was bemused to find that Jurassic World only came with the 3D disc, with no extras, what a penny pinching move by Universal for the UK (and I guess Europe) market. I do feel that Amazon should also have made it clearer as EVERY other 3D disc I've bought came with 2D disc included. I think Universal should quickly rectify this error swiftly otherwise 3D blu Ray will die a quick death! UPDATE: I contacted Universal Pictures UK to express my annoyance and they sent me a 2D version free (plus bonus Despicable Me 2) result!!!!

Wow ! Jurassic World in 3D.
Okay ,so its a bit cheesy and far fetched at times , but what a roller coaster of a movie that looks absolutely brilliant in 3D. I had not seen a 3D film in a while, ( it appears that the British public have not fallen in love with 3D movies ) the last 3D film I went to the cinema to see with my grandchildren was Ready Player One , which was super in 3D. It could be that the 3D film format is destined to die out ,which is such a shame as it is such a whole lot of fun watching a 3D movie on a big screen TV at home with the family or at the cinema .

The premise and the storyline are fairly good, but unfortunately it is missing a lot of ...
It might have the flashy graphics, the dinosaurs and some big names in it, but "Jurassic World" is missing a lot and I can't put my finger on it. Perhaps it's the lack of old cast, perhaps it's the predictable storyline, perhaps the lack of humour or...maybe it's just the blatant re-visiting of the old scenes that seem to have been re-shot and recycled from older films. The story premise is that somewhere about twenty-two years after the initial film storyline, the original Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar has opened (as Jurassic World) and has been open for a number of years, showcasing a number if dinosaurs and futuristic rides. Two brothers - Gray and Zach - are shipped off to Jurassic World on vacation to spend time with their distant aunt Claire, a managing director at the park. Upon arrival, Claire is already far too busy to spend time with her nephews and palms them off on her assistant for the day while she tends to other matters, mostly centring around a brand new Dinosaur the park is hoping to show soon, a genetically modified specimen, a hybrid of Tyrannosaurus Rex and another classified dinosaur (of which Claire will not specify) that they have dubbed "Indominus Rex". Meanwhile, on the "B" side of the story, we have Owen, a pragmatic animal trainer who previously worked with the Navy who is a specialist in dealing with the Velociraptors (anyone who has seen the first three movies will recognise these demons). Owen has a bond with a small pack of raptors and tries to establish himself as the alpha male, but is still highly aware of the creatures flightiness and is highly wary of their dangerousness to society. On the other hand, Vic Hoskins has plans to use raptors in military warfare and is looking for the chance to prove his theories that they can be used as expert trackers to seek and destroy targets. Things go quickly wrong when Indominus outsmarts park security and manages to escape. Jurassic World must be put into lockdown, but Gray and Zach have already taken off and escaped Claire's assistant and have gone on their own adventure. Chaos is sure to ensue. The premise and the storyline are fairly good, but unfortunately it is missing a lot of things. For a start, I don't think Bryce Dallas Howard was quite right in her role as Claire - something didn't click with this character. I found the usage of Chris Pratt as Owen to be a bit disappointing as there was room for light comedy/comedic levity at moments but none was ever used. At least in the previous films, there were brief comedic moments to take away from the severity of the situation, the blood and gore, etc. The characters aren't quite memorable enough and by the time you've watched it, you've already forgotten the scenes that SHOULD have stood out to you. Think to the first film, first encounter with T-Rex. What comes to mind? The car being upturned, being pushed around? Jeff Goldblum getting chased with a flare? Think first encounter with Indominus Rex...and I'm drawing blanks here. I can't actually think of any scenes in the film which stood out as a "wow" moment, and I saw it in 3D! The effects aren't anything all that exceptional. if you've seen the first three films, then you're getting the same deal, the effects haven't really evolved much. in 3D, the 3D is noticeable but not exceptional and stand in your face. I didn't feel any real awe at anything I was seeing in 3D, nothing seemed to really pop out at me, I didn't really take note of watching it in 3D at all, it was so underwhelming. Lastly, I'd like to spend a bit of time going on about the scenes that were clearly rehashed as something of an "homage" to previous films. Raptors in the grass, fights with the raptors, the fleeing Gallomimus, certain ways things were shots. It felt overdone, like they'd reshot parts of the other movies as filler! It felt to me like they were reusing old footage in new ways and reusing old graphic models that had been already shown. There are hundreds of dinosaur species, why show the same ten? It's like they were only choosing what people were familiar with rather than what might have been interesting visually. All in all very predictable, and it got old fast. This could have potentially been better than all three of it's predecessors but it pandered to the audience rather than tried to be different and it loses stars for that.

QUITE GOOD IN 3D
Saw this originally in 3D in my local cinema, decided to buy the 3D version and it did not disappoint. The dinosaurs look even more realistic than in Jurassic Park but I cannot think the franchise can deliver a further instalment. All sorts of creatures manage to escape the inevitable onslaught but whether it means there will be another sequel is debatable. The macho hero is well played by C Pratt and his pretty boss who seems to be able to run around the wet jungle in high heels looking impeccable. The two young boys are also well cast. Brand placement this time is Mercedes Benz it appears to have paid for all the vehicles, the 3 star looms large throughout although we see some old Jeep Wranglers brought back to life.

Phenomenal!!!
By now all of you know the story so I won't comment on that. I'll remark on the 3D Blue Ray transfer. Guys, the 3D version looks phenomenal on my LG OLED TV with Passive 3D. This is one for collection and entertainment for those who love 3D Home movies
