Review: 8bitdo.....those firmwares updates are horrible. - I've used this with an 8bitdo sn30 pro for a few months now and it works great .I love it . the only issue I have is the obscurity of methods to connect the controllers. for some odd reason connecting via the sync button on the controller and sync button on the receiver has this janky issue where it will take forever to connect on startup and disconnect occasionally. to remedy this you have to connect with the controller in X-input mode (with controller off press START + X ) then press the sync button on the receiver and immediately, it connects with no issue or hang. also if it just doesnt connect at all....you have to put the controller sn30pro on firmware version V2.05 and this Retro Receiver on firmware V1.13. Then,press the pair button on the receiver first and simply press the start button on the controller THEN when the controller connects ,hold start to turn it off and press Start + X to reconnect it and the inputs should work . this was a pain in the ass to figure out . They seem nostalgic and well made and they are but only in those rare circumstances where they work. This product doesn’t. I updated the firmware of the receiver and of all my controllers. I tried every combination of controller mode, with several controllers yet nothing.
