(Ash Colour) Use on Yellow not Orange tones!
There is nothing wrong with this product, only incredibly bad marketing.... the Purple (Ash) version is sold as a solution for unwanted Orange tones... the Blue version is said to remove unwanted Yellow tones.... these claims are 100% the wrong way around... ask any hairdresser, Yellow is counteracted by purple... orange is counteracted by Blue.... Scott Cornwall has this all about face! Okay when I saw the product and read the instructions I was all for sending this back (not that these products are allowed to be returned) ... but as the reviews said it left hair conditioned and soft, I gave it a go before dumping it in the drawer with my other mistake purchases. The reason I wasnt happy before using it, was nowhere at all on item or instructions did it mention getting rid of yellow... but in the listing it clearly showed males and females with the dreaded yellow hair and then the afters with very ashy hair the listing also mention orange and yellow removal. Anyway my hair was turning yellow following a very light ash blonde dye a month ago. I followed instructions... other than I left it on close to an hour 😊.... the fairly dark purple mask went on easily and within seconds had deposited the colour, when I combed it through I could see the mask on my comb and it was pure white. So there is some magic going on here, and the stuff really does work... though I don't get why it says again and again that it's for orange correction... any hair dresser will tell you, Blue counteracts orange... Purple sorts out yellow, and this product is definitely PURPLE! Maybe this is why there are so many negative reviews.... it's actually much better for use on Yellow tones! I liked the smell, pleasant to use, still have loads left in the tube... I'm really happy with the results Update: be careful to apply this evenly as the hair instantly grabs the pigments... so if you put it all in one place and then distribute it through your hair, the place you applied it too will be more pigmented than the areas you worked it through to.

I was desperate for if to work but unfortunately it did noting
I followed the instructions but my died mid blond hair that had turned very brassy remained exactly the same. I left in on for 20 mins. My original colour is dark brown Finally I tried some Lee Stafford ice white toner and left on for full 30 mins instead of the recommended 2 - 5 mins and it has removed the brass and it is now very dark blond / very light brown. It felt a lot more concentrated and thicker PLUS it was blue instead of purple. If stained my hands blue which I saw as a positive and that it must be strong! The Scott Cornwall one didn’t feel strong enough. It didn’t colour my skin and hands. I had nearly given up all hope. We will see how long the Stafford one lasts but at least it masked the embarrassment of blond orange hair.

Disappointed
Zero difference to colour unfortunately, the gloves were also missing from the box. Left hair soft but no more so than a normal conditioner does.

It adds tone to bleached hair ... but be careful!
I chose this semi permanent ‘colour restore’ product in colour ‘Caramel’ from Scott Cornwall after doing a lot of research and experiencing trials and errors with other products. I am satisfied with the result but there are some drawbacks. I was after a toning colour that would make bleached hair look more natural and a way to go forward into embracing my roots with a deeper colour and to blend bleached ends with darker roots. The product comes in a tube with plastic gloves and instructions. Instructions give the option of two techniques.. a 20 mins or 3 min developing time. One gives a deeper result and the other is a refresher. I applied the product to washed and towel dried hair and waited 20 mins before washing out. In retrospect I wish I had mixed the product with conditioner (I’d say about 50/50 would have worked) as the result I got was very deep and darker than I expected and there was some ‘colour grab’ as my processed hair is rather porous. It was a nice tone and pretty even but if so am being critical ... it was too dark and the tones were orangey. I had to strip some of the colour out using baking soda mixed with dandruff shampoo (a really good method of gently stripping hair colour) and then it faded to a nice golden caramel colour. So ...I am satisfied with the result and would repurchase but would use mixed with conditioner in future and only leave on for 10 mins. Good luck!

BRASSY/YELLOW TONES? TRYING TO ACHIEVE PERFECT SUPER BLEACH BLONDE? I'LL TELL YOU HOW......... LOOK NO FURTHER
Hi ladies snd gentlemen out there! I live in Canada and order this product 2 Boxes at a time. It is PURE BRILLIANCE! !! Plus, I have never ever found anything that works as well for removing "Yellow/Brassy" tones from blonde or bleached hair. EVER! In Canada I use "L'Oreal Blondissima"... to bleach my hair. After doing so, I am always left with yellow /gold tones. If you are familiar with levels of hair color in Canada, not sure what it is anywhere else in the world. . . but I am a level 6 or 7 here, which is a light to medium blonde. Sometimes known as dirty blonde. If you are looking for beautiful Platinum Blonde, (even hair color) look no further! I am not joking, nor would I ever leave a 2nd review for a product that I didn't stand behind 150%. I am going to attach a photo of my hair if it allows an upliad, so that you can see the outcome. As I said, I am a medium to light blonde which is like a fairly light dirty blonde natural shade. The kind of color that you just want to give a lift to, because it feels a bit Blah. Well...LISTEN UP. :-) I use Loreal BLONDISSIMA to remove the pigment in my hair and bleach it out, then. . .when I am finished it looks quite golden yellow, as always. Alll I do is add this product to my freshly shampooed hair after bleaching for 20 minutes Maximum! I come out at the end ,after applying from root to tip, with perfectly even white blonde hair ......and I mean super white, it's beautiful. Be sure to moisturize but this leaves your hair also feeling like silk. ***Just a bit of a heads up when rinsing this product out (use warm water) not hot as it will remove what you have just put in. It will open your hair follicle and remove everything you have left on for 20 minutes. So be sure to use a little bit hotter than cool to warm just nice and warm to the touch to rinse this out ...add a bit of the warm water, and work into a lather. Then, rinse it thoroughly but not too hot! Your hair will feel like silk but be sure to rinse well. ×××××The prosess is this:××××× OK. .. after bleaching or dying your hair light blonde and you have gold tones or yellow, apply this product from root and comb it through to tip & be sure to try to get your roots first as they are the most gold generally. .. then apply this all over. I have quite long hair to my bra line at the back so I nearly use three quarters of a tube to cover my entire hair. Also I have tons and tons of hair, enough for 4 People! Just so you know, AS A GUIDE ON HOW MUCH I NEED. . You should get MANY more uses than I do! I'm not sure if you can contact me to ask me any further questions or reply to my review, but I can assure you I have been searching for this color and tone for over 15 years in Canada and not even my stylist can get this colo right! . Yes, he keeps asking me who did my hair? I finally told him. .."ME"!!!! All I do is bleach it and I showed him this product that I use to tone the brassy tones and even it out to a white ash blonde. He said it looks fantastic just come to me for your cut! I am 43 and he has been cutting my hair since I was 11. If my stylist can tell me to continue doing what I'm doing because it looks amazing and it's a better job than he has ever achieved, then I can assure you that this product is worth buying. To bleach my hair it costs $14.99 Canadian. To tone my hair I believe each of these boxes is about $30 per box roughly. Now, how much money would you spend going to have a full color and cut in a salon. ... I mean a reputable high end salon? This is a quarter of the price and much, much better results. When you look at it like that it is not expensive at all and you will finally achieve the color of blonde and I mean that beautiful bleach blonde that you want without the yellow tones. I will attach a picture or two if I am able to upload here????? of before color and after One is my natural and the other is obviously the final results after using this product. So, I wish each of you the best with your toning and final outcome! :-) TRUST MEEEEEE, it is worth it. ..don't hesitate at all. I would give it 10 stars if I could. I only pray that they never stop making it. Lol Sounds funny, but I'm totally serious. Good luck. And happy bleaching :-) I promise that you will not be disappointed! I cannot rave any more about this than I already am!!!!!!!!! BUY THIS AND NEVER LOOK ANY FURTHER. IT IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC FOR REMOVING YELLOW BRASSY TONES IN UNDER 20...MINUTES

Amazing and life saver
I have ordered the cool ash toner recently as I am transitioning to grey. I have a long hair and I had been dying my hair for 30 years with black hair dye. I went to the hairdressers to strip off the box dye and I ended up having orange hair. The brass orange with yellowish tint was really bothering me but the structure of my hair got badly damaged by the lift, so I could not go back to the hairdresser for further lightening. Not for a while at least. After an endless search on the net, I came across with this wonder product and thought to give it a try. Well, after the first use, my hair lost its orange shade completely, turned back to dark blonde. Naturally, I have an ash grey hair colour and for 3 months now my roots are totally grey. The toner made my grey hair to sparkle in silver which blends in very well seamlessly with the rest of my hair now. Thanks to this conditioner, I do not wish to go back to the hairdresser again anymore! I will naturally let my silvers to shine through until I fully transition. Also, there is a significant improvement in the texture/ quality of my hair, even though, I used the cream toner only once yet. Strongly recommended it to anyone who has brassiness in their hair!

It turns your hair a bright unrealistic copper colour!
For anyone that has bleached their hair to a yellow level, you'll need to stay away from this. I'm very disappointed with the colour. This is not a caramel brown, it's a copper orange. I thought I'd get a warm light brown with it, but instead it's a bright unrealistic copper colour. Serious waste of money. I followed the instructions and whilst I don't expect it to come out exactly the shade on the box, I do expect it to be somewhere near to a caramel shade. The plus side is that it does make your hair soft, and that it does not contain any harmful chemicals, but that's about it. I also think it's expensive, for what it is. It's a good job that it's a temporary colour and that it washes out. They need to rename the colour on the box to avoid disappointment.
