The Tannoy HTS101 5.1 speaker system is a five star home cinema speaker solution. Featuring four HTS satellite speakers and a HTS centre speaker supported by the HTS active subwoofer they bring any soundtrack to life. Review: Great 5.1 system. Superb build quality and sound. - Having dabbled with a soundbar for the last couple of years, I missed my surround sound. Problem is, I have a very fussy wife who doesn't like the idea of big speakers placed around the living room. We only have a small/medium sized room, and I've learnt from experience that big speakers look out of place. She also didn't want me spending an absolute fortune......again experience tells me that you can get carried away with A/V equipment!! I've long been aware of the Tannoy name, and spent hours upon hours reading reviews on this system, comparing it with others in the same (or slightly higher) price range. I looked at the Mission M-Cubes, Q-Acoustics range, Onkyo and Monitor Audio offerings, but kept coming back to the Tannoys. Surely all of the reviews I had read couldn't be wrong??? "Best buys" "Great Sound" etc. etc. I finally pushed the button about two weeks ago and couldn't be happier with my purchase. A superb speaker package. Fairly weighty little things, but beautiful styling. Classy looking. To be honest, the ONLY reservation I had was being supplied with 5 matching satellite speakers and having to use one of them for my centre speaker. In previous systems I had over the years, the centre was a "dedicated" one, so I was concerned about sound quality from that particular channel. I needn't have worried. These 5 work in perfect harmony with each other. Sound quality is amazing from such small speakers, and the sub comes in for some serious praise too. A really lovely looking unit (tiny footprint too!) that pumps out some serious bass, should the situation demand. As I say, these are superbly finished, they have a quality feel to them. They come supplied with wall brackets but I ended up buying a couple of these to mount them to the wall https://www.desertcart.co.uk/gp/product/B002LK2DIE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Support the speakers perfectly and have a much better range of movement than the Tannoy ones. I have the speakers paired up with a new Onkyo TX-L50 slimline receiver, and they are a perfect match. So for not much more than a decent quality soundbar, I am back to 5.1 with a system that it pretty much future proof, and pumps out better sounds than any soundbar could produce. And the wife is happy!! Highly recommend these speakers.... highly. Review: Sound is clear and detailed. The set delivers eveyrthing ... - Sound is clear and detailed. The set delivers eveyrthing that was promised. High gloss finish will need regular dusting and polishing, which has drawn criticism from some family members.

Before buying, check the measurements. These speakers are *tiny* - they will fit into your hand easily. And there's the problem - whilst surprising good for something so small, they definitely have that "small box" sound. If you are using these in a home cinema system you will notice the effect mostly on the centre speaker. The dialogue is undeniably clear, but it lacks presence in the lower registers; rather like listening to the dialogue down a telephone line, and there is an unmistakeable "boxy" quality to the sound. They sound OK with music, but don't think for a minute that these are anything like "hi-fi" speakers. To summarise: the sound is OK on the surround channels but they make speech sound thin and boxy.

Fantastic value and sound!
Wanted to upgrade my old Panasonic speakers to go with my Onkyo tx-nr509. Reviews for lower priced speakers weren't necessarily favourable, until I came across a review for these - [...]. Great priced speakers with warm full and deep sound, from the tiniest incidental noise to a full on rumble! Nice and solid build too! A great purchase for anyone looking for speakers and wants to stay within a certain budget.

Great speaker system but supplied fitting tool a little lacking.
Nice system and working well, very pleased. Note to manufacturers; the supplied allen key would have been impossible to use wall mounting these, thankfully I had a longer ball headed key which worked well.

I thought they have great sound and clarity
Well impressed. I thought they have great sound and clarity. Listening to classical voice and orchestra, noticed lots of detail that i hadn't heard before. Turn up the volume, did not dissapoint at all.
