I guess it is the design that keeps knives at the right angle, which makes the difference. I will be interested to see how long it lasts before I have to replace the grinding wheel. - EASY TO USE - The ceramic wheel is covered by a clear knife-guide, designed to keep the knives in the correct position. Sharpen little and often, until the desired edge sharpness is achieved.
- DURABLE AND PRACTICAL - A tactile and 'firm grip' handle provides a secure and safe hold and the clear cover over the ceramic wheel is designed to ensure that fingers are safely out of harm’s way. A non-slip base ensures the sharpener stays firmly in position whilst in use.
- WATER SHARPENING (recommended): 1. Remove the clear guide, fill the recess under the ceramic wheel with water and replace guide. 2. Hold sharpener firmly on a flat surface. 3. Align your blade within the guide, slide the blade back and forth through the ceramic wheel 10 - 20 times from heel to tip (applying light pressure) until desired sharpness has been achieved. 4. Rinse and dry your knife thoroughly. 5. Sharpen twice a month (or to suit) to maintain the desired edge sharpness.
- DRY SHARPENING (quick) 1. Hold sharpener firmly on a flat surface. 2. Align your blade within the guide, slide the blade back and forth through the ceramic wheel 10 - 20 times from heel to tip (applying light pressure) until desired sharpness has been achieved. 3. Rinse and dry your knife thoroughly. 4. Sharpen twice a month (or to suit) to maintain the desired edge sharpness.
- REPLACEMENT WHEELS - We recommend that after 12-24 months, depending on the frequency of use, you change the ceramic sharpening wheel in order to maintain your knife’s cutting edge to a high standard. Replacement wheels are available in Robert Welch store.
- COMPATIBILITY - The sharpener is suitable for all plain edge knives. It is not suitable for serrated knives.
- CLEANING - The sharpener should be cleaned periodically by hand, lifting the clear guard off to wipe inside using a damp micro-fibre cloth and then dried thoroughly before replacing the guard. The ceramic wheel can be removed and washed in the dishwasher to prevent a build-up of sharpener dust.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The absolute best sharpener I have ever used

This is without doubt the best and easiest sharpener I have ever used. We have a really old and damaged but loved kitchen knife. It took quite a few strokes to get the blade sharp again but my goodness it now slices tomatoes thinly with ease. I then did other knives not so badly worn and had them razor sharp in a few strokes. I then had a go at my pocket knife, it achieved an amazing edge, it was slicing paper so easily. I was so impressed I immediately bought one each for my kids.
