The cards have an embossed pattern which reduces the area of contact between them and traps air pockets I guess. "Air Cushioned" sounds fanciful, but in my experience it's actually a good description of how they feel: not exactly slippery but they certainly glide over each other nicely. Now, whether this is a good thing rather depends - if you're an ace card manipulator then it's probably going to be great, but if you just want a game of crib cards scooting across the table could be pretty annoying.
