The log has been in the tank for a couple of hours and my Betta has been absolutely fascinated by it, exploring it inside and out, and now resting in it. I'll try and feed him via it going forward, but it doesn't look like he needs any encouragement to use it! I have it in my 30 litre aquarium. If you have anything smaller it may be a bit too big and take up too much space. It also floats freely. It smells like chemicals and the paint won't stop coming off. I'm too nervous to put it in the tank.** A: I got the two pack and have been soaking them for about three weeks now. They still smell like chemicals and they did flake off a bunch of black paint from the inside of them. I'm returning one of them and I'm going to continue to soak the other one as I really do like the concept and would love to use this in my tank but not until the chemical smell stops first. There was also a kinda like rainbow across the water quite a few times kinda like when car oil or gasoline is on water. So I've been changing out the soaking water almost every day. No paint peel at this time. The log itself looks to be made of plastic polymer of some kind, and I don't think it's painted per se. Sam loves his log btw.
