Hostess Twinkies Golden Sponge Cake with Creamy Filling, 10 x 38.5g

You can never go wrong with a Twinkie. Delicious on the outside, sweeter on the inside. Shoot! The signature of any outstanding apocalypse is a golden sponge cake of vanilla wonder!! Especially good on those lonesome winter nights with your feet by the fire and your eyes on the stars. Yes, nothing beats the velvet creamy goodness of a Twinkie. Yes, I could likely write lengthy, wordy, epics and florid poems about the delight that is a Twinkie... but I won't. For you see, I ordered these wonders (10 pack for ~6, what a steal!) but, sadly, I did not get to devour a single one. Alas, my three year old and her father raccooned them away like the bandits they are. The only remnants of my order being but the cream-smeared wrappers of my soul as it lay crumpled in a nest within the shredded box.

I’m addicted to these! They do have a very “manufactured” taste but they’re so addictive. Probably one or the worst things I’ve bought during lockdown - the gym now needs to visited daily!

The hype of twinkies made me try buying one box. It tasted great, but after awhile, you get this strange taste that makes you want to not eat it anymore. It's great tasting with good amount of cream but the outer layer is sticky and can be quite a mess to remove from it's packaging.

Still individually wrapped, which open just fine, as one Twinkie is never enough. They look and taste the same, the trad. cream in the first box is exactly as I remember from living in NYC over forty years ago, the Banana are a much better recipe, good flavour. There are multiple things to add to then, fresh fruit, ice-cream, jelly....in this house they are eaten straight (from the packet)...and as for a Twinkie lasting 45 days - really? Two hours for the box, and that is if you have any self-control :-)

Luckily I tried some before they became impossible to find, but they're back! They are so good. They are very sickly, sweet tasting, 'way' too sickly. The 'bread' on the outside is also sicky. The cream tastes so sickly & is probably not real cream. They are so good. I really cannot recommend them enough. Buy some to try, you will not regret it. I've already ordered more!

After all the things I've heard about them, I honestly thought they'd be a bit better. But after eating one of them, my only thought is "I should have bought soda instead." I simply do not understand why some people love them so much, but then again, we all have different tastebuds. But I still do not think they're worth the money, compared to how they taste. Guess I'll just stick to normal Danish pastry :P

The sponge is really lovely and soft and moist, but the cream inside is way to sweet for me. Won't be buying again sorry.

Wer kennt Twinkies nicht, ich sage einmal es sind eine der bekanntesten Süßigkeiten aus den USA. Ich habe mir die Twinkies zum Probieren bestellt und muss sagen, die kleinen Küchlein mit Marshmallow Füllung schmecken tatsächlich ganz gut! Nebenbei war ich für eine Süßigkeit recht überrascht, dass ein Twinkie "nur" 130 Kalorien hat. Die Küchlein sind zwar doch recht süß, aber von Geschmack her wirklich gut. Vom Geschmack würde ich die Küchlein wie luftige Magdalenas beschreiben und die Marshmallowcreme ist dann noch das Sahnehäubchen obendrauf. Mehr als eines auf einmal könnte ich allerdings nicht davon essen, da die Küchlein doch sehr süß sind, alleine durch die Marshmallowcreme. Die angegebene Haltbarkeit von 2 Monaten ist für Backware eigentlich auch ganz ok! Vom Preis her finde ich 10 Twinkies um 8.99 mit Prime Versand jetzt auch nicht so teuer, von mir gibt es 5 Sterne!

Volevo assaggiare queste famose merendine americane dopo aver sentito pareri molto discordanti. Per i miei gusti la consistenza è ottima e la cremina interna bianca è molto gradevole anche se effettivamente è un po' dolce. Non è vero che si sbriciola e io la trovo eccezzionale bagnata con un po' di rum che smorza il sapore, per alcuni, eccessivamente dolce. Sfatiamo il mito che sono ipercaloriche, hanno 350,6 Kcal per 100 grammi, sei si considera che il Cornetto Classico di una famosa azienda italiana sponsorizzata da un famoso attore spagnolo ne ha 427, non è una differenza da poco. Hanno effettivamente un peso specifico non indifferente pertanto se si mangia un Twinkie si assumono 270 Kcal mentre per il Cornetto solo 171. Ma se ne può mangiare mezza (è davvero abbondante) e così si risolvono i problemi delle calorie. Inoltre hanno 11,7 gr. di grassi di cui 5,8 grassi saturi mentre il Cornetto 24,5 gr. di cui 13,2 saturi sempre per 100 grammi. In realtà nelle nostra merendina c'è troppo burro aggiunto a margarina vegetale (ma voi fareste un dolce metà margarina e metà burro???), burro di cacao, olio di semi di girasole, olio di cocco e olio di cartamo mentre nelle Twinkies olio di semi soia, olio di semi di cotone e olio di canola (un derivato dell' olio di colza) A voi giudicare quale fa meglio e quale fa peggio. Adesso voglio provare anche quelle al cioccolato.

Sempre viste nei film americani e desiderate oramai da diverso tempo, finalmente mi sono tolto lo sfizio! Prese da un venditore ad euro 9,69 e spedite da Amazon, avendo prime non ho pagato spedizione, il prezzo direi che è stato vantaggioso, presso altri venditori sono proposte a prezzi decisamente maggiori. La confezione è composta da 10 merendine, sono simili ai plumcake, molto soffici, molto buone, non mi aspettavo un ripieno così abbondante, ripieno di crema al latte. Nella scatola ho cercato la data di scadenza ma non l'ho vista! Tanto non dureranno molto! :-D Consiglio di provarle assolutamente!
