Fine for converting low power devices.
Satisfied with product. Only used it once so far to power vintage 8mm camcorder from the US. All worked fine, no problems. Solid build, but I would not reccomend for high power devices such as power tools etc.

Do not purchase! Fire hazard
2 mins into using this with my blow dryer brush on low i heard a popping sound. Smelt something burning and the dryer stopped!!! I quickly plugged out the converter and it was still popping and smoking... tried to capture it on video but it was faint. My room smells horrible and now my dryer is not working along with the converter plug... I am so disappointed as the reviews praised this but I should have spent a little more and got a unit that actually is safe and durable. If I could give zero star I would. Will be returning and would never recommend or repurchase!!!! Not safe at all.

Voltage adaptor
This step down voltage plug fit my socket well and is a good weight. Unfortunately I had to return as the item I bought this for did not work.

Works fine at the specified rating, but hums slightly
Used within its limits (45W) this gets the job done. It does hum slightly, which is indicative of a fairly low quality transformer inside it, so how well it lasts remains to be seen.

Avoid
First one lasted a week, returned for a replacement that’s lasted a day. Not worth the money.

Hit and miss
I’ve had quite a few of these, some blew out quickly when nothing was plugged into it, some blew out in the middle of usage. Some make a buzzing sound and some don’t, and they all overheat. I’ve had some that last a year or more with much use, but as I said sometimes they last an hour. Some just don’t work straight from the box as well. I assume those that don’t last, they have a quality control issue from the factory. If you get a good one, generally worth the money since it could last a long time without breaking.

So far, so good
I've had this step-down current converted for a couple of weeks now, and it's never shown any signs of failing, burning or made any loud noise. I've been using it with a 37 Watt air purifier, on and off, sometimes ensuring to not exceed 1 hour usage at a time, but occasionally forgetting about this restriction (read the description and don't use with high wattage appliances). The device does get warm, but reasonably so, like a phone charger. And it does work. How do I know? Well, when I bought my American purifier (120V), I initially plugged it in using an ordinary US to UK plug adapter. The purifier was then very fast/loud, even on the lowest setting, making me think it was broken. But since I started using this converter, the purifier has been working much more quietly/slowly, when expected to do so. It looks like getting twice the current made it work twice as fast, which was not how it was meant to be. Overall, I'm very happy with this product.
