Is it possible to apply "command" brand wall strips on this item?

I used a nail but it's possible wall strips might work.It's a heavy item so the wall strips probably won't work in my opinion.

It's really designed to be hung on a wall. It could be leaned against the back of a bookshelf. But it is not free standing.

Looks great, not quite perfect

Looks amazing, pretty much as it looks in the photos. Slight touch up needed on a bit of the paintwork as a couple of bits went over the areas they should have been on which was a little bit of a pain but relatively easy to rectify.
