Works for timid and stressed cats alike
I bought the Feliway spray for my blind cat, as we're having a lot of building work done at the moment, which understandably scares her, and have also just got 3 kittens who she hasn't taken kindly to! She was peeing in corners (regular occurence) so we decided to give this a try. Two days before my order arrived we had to move her into an unfamilar room due to the builders, and she immediately became stressed, hardly ate and had vomiting and diarrhoea (she has a delicate stomach at the best of times), but since I sprayed her bed and blanket she seems to have been fine, no dodgy tummy and eating well. In addition to this, we had my parents' cat staying for a few days. He's extremely nervous and runs away from anyone but my mum and dad, plus he hates travelling, with incidents of crying, peeing and even drooling. He was staying in the same room as my cat so I sprayed his bed too (just a couple of sprays once a day) and he seemed like a different cat - he let other people stroke and handle him, ate all his food and didn't hide. I sprayed the towel to go in his carrier before they took him home yesterday and having just spoken to my mum it seems it worked there too - he settled down and went to sleep during the journey and when they got home he wandered around for a few minutes before going for his tea instead of running away and hiding straight away. It has made such a difference that my mum has asked me to get one for her, and I'm going to order the plug in for when I integrate my cat and kittens, as I'm sure it will help all of them. Excellent product, gets a massive paws up from our cats!

Amazing
I recently adopted a cat that has lived for some time as a stray. She was very nervous for the first couple of weeks, but we are experienced cat people, so took it really slowly doing lots of catty behaviour type things. It was all going swimmingly so I decided to let her explore another area of the house. Then it happened! I turned to walk back through a door but somehow bumped it on the way through causing it to very gently swing a couple of inches and POW! Hello psycho kitty! It took a day just to be able to get from one side of the room to the other without her hiding in very small spaces. She stopped eating and playing and I became the biggest betrayer of all catkind. I didn't want this behaviour to become embedded so I ordered the Feliway natural spray (didn't want to use the diffuser as I have asthma and I just wanted to be sure it doesn't affect me negatively first). This afternoon, I sprayed it once over her blanket - on the sofa (decided I could wash it if it's a problem for me) and bingo! She's back sleeping next to me this evening; she's even come for a cuddle; has had a big bread kneading session on my lap and a heartfelt tumble with yellow mousey. I'm a happy bunny - and no negative impact on my breathing at all. Try the spray if you want an economical way of testing it out first and good luck to all you patient souls - don't give up on the little beasties.

Feliway spray
Bought this to see if it would calm my cats down. Wanted to try the product out in some way. Didn't want to spend the £30 odd that it would have cost me to buy the Feliway diffuser. Seems to work ok, but not really sure if it is this or the cats have started to tollerate the new one.

Seems to ease feline stress in some cases
We bought this as both of our adult (neutered) cats get stressed and sick by the 10 minutes' car trip to the vet and they've also had their routine disrupted since our daughter acquired a kitten. It certainly worked when we took Thomas, one of the adults, to the vet: barely a distressed wail en route and no unfortunate accidents in his pet carrier, which was a very welcome difference from all previous occasions. We had to take him as he was "self-harming", possibly stressed by the kitten's arrival (Thomas is both nervous and unsociable). Whether it is the effect of the Feliway we can't be sure, but since then Thomas has made friends with the kitten and they now play together (Thomas has never played before!), lick each other and even sleep cuddled together. On the other hand, the two adults still hiss at each other and Charlie, who has always been "top cat", still makes token "sprays" as if to assert himself since the arrival of the newcomer. On balance, therefore, the spray seems to work in some cases but not all. We bought the spray as it was cheaper than the diffuser and we would probably have needed more than one diffuser, anyway, whereas the spray can be used as and where you want it. We do spray an old sock as a sort of diffuser substitute in the room where the cats spend most of their time and for the most part they all seem to co-exist there fairly peacefully, so perhaps it does make a difference.

Superb product
I've just introduced two new 10 month old kittens to my household of one ageing cat and a 4 year old dog. The kitties were very highly strung when they first arrived and I became concerned that they may have to go back to whence they came. However, i thought I would give this a try and, despite not holding out much hope of success with it, my fears were completely groundless. Within about one hour, the whole house settled down to complete calm. The kitties became settled and content and much less jumpy, my old cat became his old relaxed self again and, whilst Feliway does not affect dogs,, my dog became much less stressed about the frantic skittishness of the felines on her patch. It really was an absolute miracle and so easy to use. I've continued to use it all weekend and I'm now truly convinced that the prevailing aura of peace and tranquility is down to Feliway. I would recommend anyone to give this product a try. it may not work for all situations, but it certainly worked for me and I can't rate it highly enough. Jacquie, Bedfordshire.

Total success - no more clawing!
Clawing - no more! I took in a former stray cat two months ago, which is obviously 'house trained' and has excellent behaviour - except an occasional very annoying tendency to gently claw vertical soft surfaces, such as bed mattress or chair front/sides. Reading up on this (as no family cat we've taken in before has done this) I found that it's a hard habit to stop, as cats claw to territorially mark, as well as exorcise, so to a cat, clawing isn't 'wrong' and so therefore gentle scolding doesn't really work. So I turned to Feliway after some research, as I found it difficult to follow him around the house and ensure he didn't claw to cause permanent damage. I'm delighted as, straight away, after just a couple of sprays (6 pumps per localised area), the cat now walks straight past places where he'd previously found he just had to make a little stop to claw. He hasn't once even gone close as if to even think about clawing - he just walks straight by. As it says on the spray, there's no odour whatsoever to human noses - also it suggests it's safe to spray without marking surfaces and fabrics. Certainly so where I've sprayed it. So - 100% successful! (just as well as it's quite expensive for just 60ml). The spray comes with a very detailed leaflet, guiding you how to use it, whether for clawing/scratching, marking by urinating or preparing a cat travel container.

It's really embarrassing as he acts like an abused cat
I am a massive fan of the Feliway plug in.I have been using it for months and have seen a marked difference in my cat Al. It really has worked wonders on him. He is still frightened of his own shadow. It's really embarrassing as he acts like an abused cat,but I have had him since he was a kitten!!!! The Feliway plug in has made him much more sociable. When I saw it in spray form I thought it would be ideal. He gets stressed going to the vets. I always thought he was so scared he wet himself as whenever he got out of his box at the vets his feet would leave a trail. I always assumed it was urine until my sister told me that cats perspire through their feet! Low and behold I felt the towel in his carrier and there was no wet patch. I decided to get the spray so that I could spray it and he would feel comfortable. I sprayed everything with it thinking I was making things lovely for him. When I had sprayed he avoided everywhere I had done like the plague. He refused to sleep in his little bed cave, would not go near his carrier and refused to sleep on his feather pillows bed on my bed. he kept it up. In the end I had to wash everything the spray had come into contact with. Then miraculously he returned to sleeping in his old places. I personally would never buy this product again but that's not to say it wont work on your cat. My sister noticed no change in her cat from the plug in whereas I did. All cats are different. I have given a low rating because for my cat it didn't work but it might in your cat. I am sure there are plenty of people who have had a good experience with the spray unfortunately I didn't. I do not feel that's the companies fault but my cats because he is so contrary!!!!! I have a bottle going to waste if anyone would like it!!!!

Feliway Diffuser - it's cool for cats.
I didn't really expect this substance to have any great sway with my worldly-wise former street cat. He's done it all in his time - catnip; feverfew; you name it. But I kid you not - the Feliway Plug-in Diffuser has surprised us both. I don't think my friend had been exactly unhappy hitherto, but those hobo-years spent fending for himself (before wandering into my life and home and claiming the two as his own) had possibly left the little chap feeling a tad old before his time. But that's all changed now. Ever since we'plugged-in and turned-on' my cat has become decidedly kittenish. I'd never known him to play before, but now he enjoys all manner of 'purely-for-fun' pastimes - sometimes as a lone player (wherein he will pretend his tail is a person in its own right and engage it in a vigorous game of tag) or at other times, if I'm lucky, he will incorporate me into the merriment by pouncing on me from all directions whenever I am least prepared. Happy times, reader - as I'm sure you can appreciate. However, more remarkable even than the emergence of this previously dormant fun side, my cat has at long last begun to like being cuddled. Joy to the world! Now obviously I can't be sure all of the above is 100% attributable to Feliway. But I'm certain it's at least a major contributer. All that really matters is that my little mate seems happier in general since we activated that diffuser - and that's why I give it 5 stars.
