There is a newer model  DCS356N with 3 speeds and reduced vibration. This previous version has a similar trigger to a battery drill so you have to squeeze harder to increase speed. That's why they are going cheap now but if you don't care about those new features you're saving over £40 against the newer model by buying this one which is still a very capable tool. Dewalt power tools have always been decent quality. I've used nearly all of their range over the last 30 or so years since Black & Decker launched this superb professional brand, and for the money I don't think they can be beaten. The batteries are utterly without equal. I've got a selection of 18v XR 2ah and 5 ah batteries that I've used and abused for years and they are still holding up fine. Makita used to be the better quality machines (made in Japan) a long long time ago but I don't think they are now. Times change but as it's better to stick to one brand of power tools for battery compatibility I'm glad I chose Dewalt and stuck with them. I've had very few problems if any with this brand. I'd recommend buying from a reputable dealer though as I believe they are often counterfeited. You can normally tell though. P.S. I got the newer one with more accessories and and T-stack case for £130 in a flash sale yesterday but I think they are normally £150 0r more so if you just need a multi-tool for a few odd jobs I'd say it's possibly all you need to pay. You could buy a massive accessory pack and still have change. In fact you could buy a 5ah battery and this unit for around the price of the new one bare. It depends on your requirements.
