And having now understood that if you twist the tube slightly, it allows the inner tube to push up far easier I have no problems with inserting them. Yes cardboard will always be a bit harder to use than plastic applicator tampons. But knowing that the cardboard will decompose a huge amount faster than plastic in landfill makes it worth it.
