Originally I would be freezing the milk in bottles as we had so many from neonatal pumping. But it took so much space in the freezer so I decided to get these. The bags are strong and durable. You can label them to ensure you don’t use old milk which is really handy. They freeze flat which is great for saving space. They have a double seal which stops any milk from escaping. They have amounts on the side which can be handy when you’re bagging them - don’t want to freeze more than baby can drink and waste it. They are quick and simple to use. I had to scald my milk because of high lipase and the process wouldn’t take more than 5 minutes to bag it all up. Definitely worth the price to keep milk safe, well packaged and stored. Being in here meant we were unable to be with him 24/7 and, as my wife was being treated for complications as well, we were unable to breastfeed. Of course when we then had to opportunity to try and breastfeed the little man was not having it - he wanted to ease and speed of the bottle and did not like the breast (im not sure he is his fathers son) Anyway, we got an electric Breast Pump (also from desertcart, great piece of kit, easy to use and sterilise and fitted the bottles we already had, good old TImothy) As it turned out my wife was able to produce vast amounts of milk, to the point where we needed another option for longer term storage. These bags are great, they have plentiful space to write on when the milk was expressed and when it should be used by. They are a very good quality bag, and have not been damaged when just chucked in the freezer - very durable. Easy to seal and the seal feels secure as well, you only need to do it once to seal the contents and you feel confident thats its sealed properly. They hold large amounts of milk, or as we use them, small amounts - enough for each feed. We did try another make as well - someone gave us a few to try - and we found those just felt thinner and not as substantial as these, and for the price these turned out to be more cost effective anyway. You can just attach them to the pump and pump directly. **Q: is it pre-sterilised?** A: Yes they are pre-sterilised which is the great thing about them. **Q: After baby is 6 months old can you open packet from freezer, squeeze out how much you went to defrost and put the packed back I the freezer?** A: I don’t know about squeezing out but I use the bags to freeze smaller portions of 2oz then defrost and use immediately so I don’t waste a full bag if not needing the full amount. **Q: Can I collect the milk in one bag throughout the day by keeping in the fridge and then freeze it?** A: This was my daughter, not me, but since she lived with us a lot after the baby was born, as I remember it…. one bag is really only big enough for one pumping session when the baby is older. If you have less milk (e.g. when the baby is smaller there’s less), she used to top up one bag sometimes from the very next feed. But the milk you use to top up needs to be completely cooled in the fridge before adding it to existing milk.
