Lovely pencils blending well good cover great price nice colour range

They were delivered at least one day early and in mid-December as well, despite the Christmas postal delays. I have tried them out on a part-finished fantasy picture to give me additional, more-muted colours than the Colvil & Co set I have been using so far. I have found them about the same as the Colvils in terms of water activation and 'blendability' but I did need the widening of my available colour range, despite them costing about six times as much. Some of them are surprisingly close in hue to those in the Colvil range e.g. 'Rose' is same as the Colvil orange and 'Bright Pink' the same as the Colvil pink.

A superb set of skin tone colour pencils from Derwent that are student grade and are excellent value for money. They lay down very nicely and blend quite easily. The pencils that have the colour names along the shaft, do have the colour at the base; however, do completely swatch to gain the true hues. The set includes an excellent white - perfect for blending and softening, plus a very good black. The pencils sharpen smoothly without any breakages or splits and are comfortable to hold. Of course, one could always want more colours, but with a little patient layering, a variety of skin tones are achievable. The colours are different to those in the 72 pencil watercolour set, but there are similar colours to be found there, as can be seen with the horizontal comparison bars on the swatch. All round, an excellent starter set before investing in the 72 set, plus a great bonus is that Derwent have a skin tone tutorial page.

I've never owned a set of watercolour pencils before and thought you can't beat standard watercolour tabs, until I bought this set. Just brilliant colours and so easy to use, I can't wait to use them in my projects into nature arts. The value of this set is amazing and quality is on a professional level.

My first purchase of watercolour pencils. Lots of colours to choose from. I've made a simple Swatch of the 24 colours and used a wet brush to see how they fair. So far so good. Pencils seem strong. You can transform the pencil marks into translucent washes, like traditional watercolor painting and I was looking for something portable and convenient to give urban sketching a go. I highly recommend giving watercolor pencils a try.

Lovely pencils, my only complaint would be the tin keeps coming apart, spilling the pencils everywhere.

So... I got this derwent academy colour pencils(24shades). The packaging was well good. I must say if you are beginners & student still learning ...this product is very good for them... I m a Fashion designing student & still learning and from my view I liked this product....for kids also it is best... But if u r professional...i recommend u.. Don't buy. I think value for money is worth it,since it is not for professionals.. The colours are soft and bright enough ... And can blend easily... It also depends on which paper u r using....so I liked the product.

Sou pintora de aquarela, mas gosto também de usar os lápis aquareláveis, conheço várias marcas, mas esse foi o que realmente atingiu as minhas expetativas. Realmente maravilhoso.
