Review: Meet Me In Las Vegas - The culmination of two different storylines, Harbinger Wars marks the new Valiant’s first crossover event. Longtime fans remember Unity, the original Valiant’s mega-crossover involving every title they were publishing at the time that put “event” comics on the map. For this inaugural attempt, the new Valiant chose to keep things are a little more reserved, with Bloodshot and Harbinger being the only ongoing titles involved. Where things left off: Bloodshot attacked the PRS base hoping to find out his past, only to find several imprisoned psiot children, instead. With these children in tow, Bloodshot makes his way into the Nevada desert. Meanwhile, Peter Stanchek and the other Renegades narrowly escaped capture from PRS, and Peter received a vision from the enigmatic Bleeding Monk, telling him to head west. Quite unwittingly, both parties are heading for a collision course in Sin City! What proceeds is a war. Not quite the epic war with gratuitous amounts of fighting going on (though there is that), but more a battle of ideologies centered on the psiot children escaped from PRS. The four sides (Four? But I’ve only mentioned two… hmmm…) each has their own motivations and intentions, and those come into conflict over these kids. What I appreciated most, besides some very cool moments with characters I love, was the end result. The victor was not who I anticipated, and was a bold move on Valiant’s part. And the repercussions… you can be guaranteed that there is no “reset button” pressed to put things back to the status quo. The titles are involved are left dealing with this event as a result, one that is not easily resolved. It is safe to say that the parties involved do not part on friendly terms. I strongly recommend that anyone interested in reading Harbinger Wars, and who has not read any of Bloodshot or Harbinger before, seek out and read the first two trades of both titles first.
Review: The Harbinger Wars Volume collects the entire Harbinger Wars series ... - The Harbinger Wars Volume collects the entire Harbinger Wars series in issues 1 through 4 (but not the crossover issues in the other Valiant titles). The Harbinger Wars sees a group of young children with psiotic powers that they are just starting to understand. They are in the middle, while Bloodshot, Toyo Harada and Peter Stanchek (from the Harbinger team) all vie to either control or free the children. The story starts out with a bang and slowly builds until issue 3. I felt it started really fall apart, with a sharp wrap up in the end of issue 4. All in all, a decent story, but a bit short from the epic crossover event I had hoped for.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Harbinger Wars

This book collects the Harbinger Wars miniseries published by Valiant Entertainment. This series was the first major crossover event in the new Valiant Universe. Calling this event a “war” might be overstating the facts slightly, but it was quite a battle. The four sides in this battle are: Bloodshot and the psiot children he has recently rescued from Project Rising Spirit facilities. Another group of psiot children that escaped from the same Project Rising Spirit facilities (calling themselves Generation Zero), along with the stars of the Harbinger comic, the Renegades. Toyo Harada and his harbingers. Project Rising Spirit with their team of H.A.R.D. Corps. Every group involved in this battle thinks they are doing the right thing. Bloodshot is helping the children he is caring for to reunite with their friends Generation Zero. Generation Zero is just trying to be free for the first time in their lives. Harada is trying to “free” all the psiot children PRS had control of to care for them in his facilities. Well, maybe PRS has no real good reason for what they are doing. In the end, who could win this battle. This book is a great read and has the usual high quality production values that Valiant has come to be known for. I recommend it to anyone.
