Perfect
I just started playing around with clay board and multimedia techniques. These tools are great for both scratch board and this clay board. With the ampersand clay board, you can scratch away and remove ink and liquid acrylic with steel wool or the scratch board tools. This is a great set of well made tools.

I’m late on reviews but I already used this product and it worked well for the art project I used it for. It still holds in quality if I work to do more scratchboard projects.

Item was as advertised. Arrived on time in excellent condition. Great, high quality, basic set of scratchboard tools. Tools are very well made. Will be using for sgrafitto effects with oil pastels.

Just use an exacto knife
I got this because I'd never done scratchboard before and I wasn't sure what tools would work best. I played with all of these tools, plus a few things I had at home, like a dental pick, some steel wool (which I had on hand) and an exacto knife. So far, my favorite tool is the exacto knife. I can do most of what I want to with it. My advice is, just get the small ampersand scratchboards and tinker with them using the knife. Then, if you decide you want to try something different, get these.

Brand tools always reliable
Dont get me wrong...any sharp, pointy objects are fair game to use on black claybord...but I seem to fall back on the consistant feel in my hand from these tools.

Some useful tools but poor quality and extremely bad value. The nibs were especially badly made, with flashing and burrs where they had been crudely stamped out. I needed to file and sand them before they could be used. One nib holder for two nibs, and no box to store tools - for £50?? Ampersand's boards are excellent, so such a shoddy and expensive set of tools is disgraceful.
