My old router (another Mikrotik but years old) couldn't quite handle gigabit internet; this one laughs at it. Yes, I got a free Hub 2 with the connection but this Mikrotik is vastly more functional. It runs four VLANs here (VOIP, Smart devices, Wifi and wired LAN) and extensive firewalling and QoS (queue) rules; all at full wire speed. The PoE is useful too, even though I have a 28 port PoE switch too. My VOIP base, modem and WiFi APs are directly connected to the Router using the PoE. My UPS shuts down the big Cisco switch (with IP PoE cameras and other stuff) and my NASs after a short time without power to conserve battery life, but leaves the Mikrotik router on so I still get internet and telephony for a long time. Perfect setup! It's expensive, but for what you get is fantastic value for money.
