Bluetooth Car Kit with Handsfree USB AUX Input for Honda OEM Radio

Easy install and set up. System Quickly paired to my phone and the sound quality was seamless. Phone mic adapted works great also. Ran it along the trim to an area above the drivers seat and made a few calls to test and audio was crystal clear-nonissues with mic sound or echo on other end. I added a usb / aux adapter and placed into the trim below the radio and both function as expected. Can charge phone, play audio either Bluetooth or aux. great product

5/20/24 Update to original review: Its still working great however, when using the blue tooth and taking calls the sound for the person Im speaking with is pretty bad. The mic is super sensitive so there's a ton of background noise. I've tried various things to resolve it but haven't figured it out. The sound on my end is great though. Removing the trim and pulling the stereo in my 2006 CRV was really easy. Just had to disconnect the XM radio and plug the Bluetooth Car Kit into its place. I never used the XM radio anyway so no loss as far as I'm concerned. One thing to be aware of is that it wont work if there are CD's loaded into the CD changer. If it has CDs then it will only play the CD's, it wont switch over to the Bluetooth device. When I first turned on the stereo after installing the Bluetooth Car kit the Bluetooth connected immediately and everything worked as expected but once I loaded a CD it switched over to CD and the only way I could get it to switch back to Bluetooth was to eject the CD, then disconnect the Bluetooth Car Kit completely and then reconnect it. So, switching back and forth from playing CD's to using the Bluetooth connection might be a pain if you do it a lot. The sound quality was fine. Its not as loud as the radio or CD's so I had to turn up the volume an extra 5-10 notches to get the same volume but it wasn't an issue at all. It still got really loud and the sound was clear. It quickly connects to my device and picks up where you left off the last time you got out of the car. It reliably connects to incoming and outgoing calls. I fished the cable down the driver side of the dash and used Velcro tape to stick the device to the side of the console on the drivers side. I ran the mic through the interior trim and stuck it on my visor. So all wires are hidden and the mic and ports on the device are accessible. All in all, it was an easy job for a fairly handy person. Im happy with the purchase and super excited to update my reliable old Honda with some new tech.

It does not, and can not, do anything advanced through the factory stereo; it cannot take over the radio for calls or navigation, it cannot give you a dialer on your factory radio, it cannot do anything except for process audio and feed it into a hijacked analog line for the CD player mode, so it does the same thing as an FM transmitter, except with much higher quality audio and far less interference. None of those advanced features are even possible for it to do anyway over the connector it takes over, at least to the best of my knowledge. And that's exactly what I needed. Surprisingly, it is actually able to detect and respond to the play/pause and track change buttons, so it ties in to my steering wheel controls which is an unexpected bonus. There is a hiss that bleeds in when cranked to higher volume, but it's minor compared to any FM transmitter I've used, and may be the radio itself rather than the adapter. Setup is easy; pull console trim out, usually starting around the shifter, unscrewing and unclipping trim until you get underneath the radio, plug the cable into the open slot in the bottom of the radio, shove the cable around behind all the remaining trim until you think you have it where you want, I routed it over to my glove box but may move mine somewhere else later, do the same for the microphone once you stick it where you think is good, then just... plug the cables into the module. Turn the radio on, press the CD button, it just works. Reassemble trim in reverse order. Ultimately, for an 03-07 Accord, if you don't want to swap out your console box, break climate controls, have a dead radio hanging above the one in use, and/or pay >$300 for an aftermarket climate control unit just to give you a Double DIN where the original radio fits, this... is a far, far easier pill to swallow, it does the job and is oh, oh so much cheaper. Unless, of course, you want the boatloads of features only a full aftermarket head unit can provide, in that case sacrifices have to be made, either to your console box or to your wallet. The worst part of my own installation was probably all the grime I discovered that had somehow made it past the trim on my car. It was mostly previous owner cigarette ashes, definitely contributing to the overall nasal aura that I've been attacking since I got the vehicle. But that's separate from the product, and is a personal issue with my ability to realize what I'm getting into with cleaning up a well-used car.

Installed in MDX 2005+navigation without issue. I left unit out in slot underneath the head unit with cable threaded thru a gap around the cigarette lighter assembly. Sound quality is great, volume about 2-3 levels below same song played by CDP (phone at max volume) but still very good. Connecting via Bluetooth is good and automatic when turning on car; it got disconnected about 2x randomly past 2 months after installing and I had to disconnect BT on my phone then reconnect. I haven't yet tested out the usb and aux ports. Great price comparing to a few other brands and has similar or more functions. Definitely recommended for older cars needing BT connection.

I like how easy it is to hook up with the head unit. The Bluetooth connection with phone upon starting the car is not quick as expected. Sometimes it takes a while, sometimes it will never connect automatically. (sometimes it is fast). Another inconvenience i found is that if i'm playing from other sources like CD or Radio, you'll not see any incoming call notification. The source has to be manually changed to "CDD" to see incoming calls. Otherwise there is no notification or caller tunes whatsoever. I had another after market "hands free link" Bluetooth unit in my car previously, which changed to incoming calls automatically no matter what you are playing. So this is not entirely a limitation with head unit, but rather with this Bluetooth unit. I don't think music quality is as good as "CD Quality" as claimed. But not bad either. Over all i'm not upset with the unit, but i don't think it is worth the price. By the way, my car is a Honda Pilot 2009 model (6 CD HU without XM radio).

Man I finally solved the issue of my 2007 Honda Civic hybrid not being able to play through the aux. I had already changed the aux and I still couldn’t play my music. My radio was having some weird issue with the sound from the aux but with CD I could hear the music perfectly and with XM as well. I bought this product and installed where the wires from XM go and I ran the wires properly and I can finally hook up my cable from my phone to play the music through using this device. It plays the music with now all speakers sounding perfectly!!! Thanks to this product I can enjoy my music again in my car!!! Awesome product 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Great product! Bought this bad boy back in 2023 and she’s still going strong on my Honda crv 2005 :) love it so much! Call quality isn’t the greatest but I just wanted it for music! Hella worth it for the price 😎
