イングランドの貴族の娘、Jamie（But, it's man's name!)は税金を納め忘れた父親に対する王の罰則としてハイランドの領主Alecと結婚させられてしまう。見知らぬ男、しかも風習も考え方も異なるスコットランド人、見るからに恐ろしげな大男。第一印象は圧倒的にネガティブだったけれど･･･。 主人公二人の相性が最高。"ケミストリー"とは上手く言ったもので、それぞれ単独でも充分魅力的な二人だけれど、この二人が一緒になるとそれこそ化学反応でも起こしたかのように爆発的な吸引力を発揮します。コミカルなシーンでは二人の軽妙なやり取りに思わず笑ってしまうし、情熱的なシーンではかなりドキドキ。Jamieの方向音痴ネタなど、ユーモアのセンスも抜群。ミステリー仕立ての仕掛けもあったりして、一冊で何度も美味しい。 ラブ・コメの部類に入るかと思いますが、ロマンス的にもコメディ的にもレベル高いです。個人的にはもう少し重めのロマンスが好きなんだけれど、たまにはこういう楽しいロマンスもよいなぁ、と。

Good story, enjoyed it and worth the read.

I really enjoyed this book I found the lead Alec yummy i loved his dialogue and the fierceness he exuded i even like his two second in command Marcus and Gavin they came across just as sexy as Alec did , the story line was really good too i don't want too much historical references like others do this is not a history book so i like the romance ,and my main lead in the picture all the time loved the sex scenes too! the reason i don't give it five is that i kind of didnt like the fact that the heroine was a female William Wallace oh dear!!!!!!!and the fact that every question asked was repeated it was quite tiring and yeah one more thing which was laughable was that this proud worrier Scottish laird was content to allow this British bride to put up the king of England up as a tapestry in his main hall omg omg omg hahahahahahaha im not even Scottish and im offended!!!!!!!!!!!!I REALLY ENJOYED IT THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!ESPECIALLY THESE MALE HIGHLANDERS GATHERING TOGETHER I COULD ACTUALLY FEEL THE TESTOSTERONE LOL!

A nice dreamy historical fantasy fiction.

I totally loved the book. If you like historical romance, go for this one.
