I checked the threads on mine (under the plastic covers) as soon as I received them because some of the reviews here mentioned damaged threads, but mine were perfect. I wrapped them with teflon tape, put a little bit of pipe dope suitable for potable water over the tape, and they threaded beautifully. So far no issues and no leaks. I hate plumbing but these worked very well and I'm pleased.
