I acquired one of these motors, used, for use in a 24" pro wood lathe that I am currently designing. However, it was a used motor and the bearings sounded a bit rough when the motor shaft was spun. This is not a major problem for me. As a mechanical Engineer with a well equipped shop, I have no problem replacing the bearings. But, I wanted to re-lube the bearings to see if that would help them run smoother. After checking with Baldor, I ordered a small cartridge of Mobil Polyrex EM (great price from desertcart). When I received the Mobil Polyrex EM grease and checked it out, I was amazed at it's cohesion and lubricating properties. I re-lubricated the bearings using the Zerk fittings on the motor. When I spun up the motor for just a minute or two the bearings were silent and smooth as silk with no "bearing drag". This is, with out a doubt one of the best greases that I have ever used. I will be using Mobil Polyrex EM for all motors in my shop from now on.
