I remember seeing it during a flight back in 2003. I bought the DVD to watch it again after all of these years. You have to be a bit of Star Trek fan to get all of the references, but even if you're not deep into Star Trek, it's a good spoof of Sci-Fi movies and TV from back in the day. The cast has a lot of familiar faces that just add to the fun. It's relatively kid safe, I would say 7 or 8+, which isn't so easy to find these days. This would be a great movie if you're looking for lighthearted adventure with some good laughs. Review: Perfect 4K Transfer - Great release. The transfer is excellent. The disc is from a native 4k source (I think? I could be wrong, but it doesn’t look like an upscale), features shifting aspect ratios, and plenty of color pop with Dolby Vision. The movie features lots of practical effects which now look more lifelike than ever, alongside some pretty bad but Impressive for the time cgi. Can’t get much better than Tim Allen, the late great Alan Rickman and the beautiful Sigourney Weaver (with blonde hair). Even if you’re not a Star Trek fan, this movie is eye-catching, entertaining and funny. Nicely done artwork on the slipcover (looks better than the steelbook imo). I can’t believe all of these great 4K releases as of late, I thought physical media was dying, but it seems to be thriving. Both big and small studios are shipping new releases and remastered 4K releases every week via desertcart and other online stores. “Never give up, never surrender” seems to be the motto.

Great release. The transfer is excellent. The disc is from a native 4k source (I think? All star action comedy for those of us who enjoy comic and movie events as shown in this movie and ones like that in the movie paul. Great FX and casting. Believable cast and scripting to give great twists of reality and the more creative people we all know.

Best Love Letter to Star Trek fans ever made!
A great unsung movie that still entertains today. It’s truly a love letter from the filmmakers to the tans of Trek and TV Science Fiction! The studio did NOT know what it had and didn’t promote it correctly. Fortunately, the era of DVDS had arrived as did word of mouth. If not for Alan Rickman’s death, there would have been a sequel!
