Koogel Blank Nesting Dolls, Wooden, 6 Set

When I got my first set I sand papered them down and pollished them up a bit before painting the farm animals on them, as a kids toy the kid loved them but after continous use of opening they wouldnt close so I put some supper blue around the bottom edge and allowed to to dry to create some more grip and that works, my second pair I decide not to file down to prevent them from getting worm out fast and did a monkey theme both sets are loved and moving to new york 🥲 will need more soon to replace them

I love these Matryoshka dolls! It might seem odd because they are plain wood, but I have used them many times when counseling people. Since talking about past trauma or past hurts can be difficult, these plain wooden dolls are a great buffer for people. They can put their own labels on them so they can talk about the impact trauma has had on the many layers of their lives. I collect other Matryoshka dolls, but had no idea how significant and versatile these would become. I highly recommend them to anyone who works with students, helping professions, counseling, or ministry.

Used for crafting. The 2 halves fit tightly and can sometimes be hard to undo. Surface took acrylic paint easily and well. One has started to crack

I'm not entirely sure what to say about this. So, it's really cool that you can create your own design. My son LOVES pokemon, so he was able to paint his own. They're actually a really great size and quality. The ONLY bad thing about these (AND IT'S REALLY BAD) is the sound they make when you twist them to open them. Oh my God, it sounds like someone stepped on a dog. It's worse than metal scraping against metal. And they're so hard to open! Other than that, they're great.

I purchased 8 sets for a family vacation, so each family could paint a set as a keepsake/fun memory. We had so much fun! They take paint well, open and close great... only 1 (one main one in one set of the dolls) stopped closing all the way after I painted all sides, including inside. I imagine I can sand it down and it'll close. They're still sitting as a happy reminder of our beach trip!

I absolutely loved these Koogel Plain Nesting Dolls! I bought them to make a custom matryoshka doll for my daughter, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The wood is smooth and sturdy, and the acrylic paint I used adhered beautifully without any wear. This was such a fun project, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. Couldn't believe this was an Amazon's Choice product. It was rough and full of splinters and shavings still attached where it was taken off the lathe. It was so difficult to open the first doll because it was so tight. Rims of bottom part of dolls were thin and poorly fitting. I got them for my granddaughter as they were supposed to be ready to paint. They weren't even close to paintable. I returned them and paid twice as much for a set from a different company and the extra cost was well worth it. The old adage "you get what you pay for" really applies here.

It is eaw wood it does need to be treated pre and post painting (i love that)

Good quality, better than any other items similar but defective.
