Got one two many door dings on my Y so I decided to do something about it. I wanted something more subtle and not too after market. I don’t want it to attract attention. I like how it turned out. Hopefully it stays on. Tips: - Clean the area where you’re putting it on. - Definitely use an adhesive promoter. Makes it less likely to fall off. If you don’t have that, use alcohol wipes, at least. For best results. Use both. Extra step: heat up the 3M using a heat gun or blowdryer before applying. It makes the tape more flexible while applying and becomes stickier to the surface as it cools. 4/5 stars because when you cut it, the center part is a very light grey and it’s jarring to see when compared to the glossy black. I opted to paint mine.

Have a mid-'00 e46 330Ci coupe where the roof rail paint was shot out. Stripping and repainting estimates didn't make sense so tried vinyl wrapping. Looked good but doesn't hold up long. Finally decided to just cover them with trim and surprisingly looks factory adjacent to BMW's trim on the rest of the car. A very good expensive option - we'll just have to see how it holds up.

Initially went on nice but definitely not long lasting. Adhesion was just ok, and then the surface cracked all over. Just plain poor quality junk. Evidently cannot withstand any type of weather changes. You'd think from the pics this was 30 year old weather strip and this happened after just 6 months. Looks worse now than what I was trying to cover up!! Stay clear if you're looking for a quality product. Sorry for the dirty car - paint is actually very nice under the dust. Product rating F-
