I am still using the dampened metal platter that came with my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO, but I have a 3mm acrylic mat on top, so the shim was a must to raise up the tonearm. Glad I found this lower cost alternative from a small business. Does it improve the sound? Hard to tell, but I like to think it does!
