## Description

The LUNADA GEARSLINGER is a step up in size from our bestselling Remora and is our most advanced Gearlinger to date

Review: Great bag and a good size for EDC - Great bag and a good size for EDC, though it's kind of on the large size, and tempting to really overfill. The D-rings on the top are great to clip a water bottle on, and to keep it from flopping about, I ran a piece of 1/8" shock-cord through the webbing lower down on the side and slip the water bottle into it - secured both top and bottom it stays out of the way but easy to access - no need for a bulky separate water-bottle pouch, unless you need something insulated. Front Admin Pockets/Panel: Well sized - I've got my larger and smaller items separated accordingly - the top pocket easily holds a small pill holder, full-sized BIC lighter, small multi-tool (Leatherman Micra), 6 ft. tape measure and a couple of hanks - 6ft of shock-cord and 6 ft of paracord, with lots of room to spare. Will also fit a full 7-day pill organizer. The lower pocket holds larger items nicely: Leatherman Wave, 2 flashlights (S-Mini 18650 and Mag 2xAA LED), pocket knife (Spiderco Endura), small pry-bar, generic plastic magnifying glass, spare 18650 batteries for the S-Mini, lotion, and a microfiber cloth in the slip pocket. There's also a key hook that I use for a USB thumb drive - very handy to have with you. I also attached my hard-shell sunglasses case to the velcro field with $0.75 worth of industrial-grade adhesive velcro from a fabric store. I secure it fully with the shock-cord - glasses are going nowhere. Main Compartment: ROOMY! The two slip pockets are nice, and I frequently carry my 7" tablet in one of them, with room to spare. The flap with the zippered pocket is also very handy - I keep phone and tablet chargers in there, along with their cables, and there's tons of room left over - it keeps occasionally used items organized and out of the way. The zipper pull also doubles, in my case, as a place to hang a Streamlight Nano. The rest of the main compartment is great for larger things - a pair of mechanic's gloves, larger hank of paracord, spare AA battery holder, 8x21 binoculars etc. Improvements I'd like to see: 1) The rear "CCW" pocket is great, but the strap won't tuck into it as comfortably as Maxpedition says. It will go in there, but makes the overall package pretty bulky. 2) The auxiliary strap - it would be an improvement if they attached it to the bag with a swivel hook instead of wrapping around the D-ring. As it stands, it's cumbersome to use, so I keep it off. 3) Interior - some d-rings, key clips, and para-loops (like on the pocket organizer series) to hang frequently-used items would be handy. Elastic retention might be nice too, but as necessary. 4) Hydration reservoir/bladder - This isn't on Maxpedition, necessarily, but it would be a great option to have. The CCW pouch could fit a 1L bladder easily, but the only one I could find, so far, with the right dimensions is the Kangaroo 1L with pouch, which is way too expensive for this application. The bottom line is that this is a fantastic bag, and though there's always room for improvement, I'm well satisfied with my purchase and happy to use this every day. It's easy to over-stuff and find yourself carrying to much, so watch out for that.
Review: 9 years old - still going. - I've had this for 9 years now and it's still in perfect condition. Use it on and off. Get something new, try that for a while - keep going back to this. You understand why it's expensive as soon as you get it. The material is nearly indestructible. Very well made, very heavy duty. There are pockets literally everywhere. I still don't know if I've found them all. It's just a great bag and a good size tjat doesn't take up too much space. I added a bottle holder onto the side and made use of the molle webbing on the opposite side to carry a small flashlight and larger tactical pen (they are nearly the same size) for quick access. Inside has another case with every charger and cord I might ever need, anker backup battery, my meds, aspirin ECT. Smaller pockets have travel flatware, collapsible straw, a knife, some pepper spray ECT.. House and car keys live in the smallest pocket up top, and my wallet and cash stay in the zippered pouch inside the main compartment. Still has spare room, and the pack sleeve can fit an 8" tablet or compact handgun. This bag really is built to last. Don't think for a minute those $30 knockoffs are just as good - cause I promise they won't be. You could fit 3 insulated water bottles inside the main compartment if you wanted to, cause I did that for a while also.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will a Macbook Air 11" fit in the Lunada? Many thanks**
A: It's funny I received this question today because I was just in the Apple Store looking at the MacBook Air 11" and 13". It's really hard to choose between the two. But to answer your question...I have no doubt the 11" will fit in your Lunada...but my big thing with that is that there's not much padding inside the Lunada to protect the laptop. Of course you could buy a neoprene sleeve but that may make the fit a little snug. I'd go for it...If it doesn't fit in the way your comfortable carrying it...send it back. Question: Do you have the Lunada yet and your deciding whether or not to buy the 11" MacBook Air...or is it the other way around...meaning you have the MacBook Air 11" and your looking to buy a Lunada?

**Q: Will this bag hold an 8.5 x 11 paper tablet/folder or a brief carrier? Will it hold either or both of these with a 10 inch tablet?**
A: The main compartment is 8.5" Length x 12" Height x 5" wide, so it should fit provided you don't over stuff it. Hope that helps.

**Q: Will this hold the Surface Pro 3?**
A: no, Lunada is 8"(L) x 3.5"(W) x 11.5"(H)

**Q: Will an Ipad 2 in an otter box fit with plenty of room to spare?**
A: I don't know about plenty of room to spare, but I used to put my 10.1" tablet in the main compartment but that was without an otter box. But considering how my tablet fit I would go for it, I think the Lunada will accommodate.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Maxpedition Lunada as an EDC
*by R***Z on December 31, 2010*

I bought this bag predominately as an EDC to help carry my firearm. I use to carry a waist pouch and realized I needed something a bit bigger to accommodate a few other essential items. It was important to me to have some sort of compartmentalization so that items can be found when needed. I was torn between the Remora and Lunada by Maxpedition. After giving it some thought I realized that I needed adequate space to carry a subcompact 45 caliber (Glock, model 30). Most reviews I saw on YouTube did not show many or even mention what type of pistol would fit appropriately in the bag. I figured I could not go wrong with the bit larger size in the Lunada. I thought the bag to be more of a square shape versus a rectangle according to the pictures online. However, this is not the case and is shaped more like a loaf of sliced bread (wider of course). It is a good looking and feeling bag. Durability, quality and performance do not appear to an issue. I trust the bag should hold up for a long time. In fact, I'll probably grow bored with it and look for a new color before I wear it out. I would like to share that I found the main compartment (largest one) is where I chose to carry my pistol. The other option exists in the rear of the pouch that makes contact with one's body (I didn't like how that felt). Because I use the inner, larger compartment, I am limited in what I could store there. If you carry too much in that area, you will interfere with the accessibility of withdrawing your gun if needed. I used a smaller zipper pouch to consolidate a few items to keep things from spilling, uncapping, or tearing while in the pouch. I also, use the Maxpedition Universal CCW holster which attaches to the Velcro lining in the respective concealed carry pockets to better secure my gun. As a male, I don't need a whole lot of items but like that I am now able to carry a bit more than I was able to in the past. Items I use the bag for are: cell phone, wallet, mp3, ChapStick, hand sanitizer, Ibuprofen, LED flashlight, multi-tool, folding knife, small journal, pen, Sharpie marker, hand lotion, Wet Naps. I still have more than half the space still available. Do not question this purchase. If you need a bag that doesn't exceed the previously mentioned items by much more, then this will do fine. You're only concern should be what color will you buy?
