Review: A great product with simple setup - Awesome product and very easy to setup. I have recently upgraded my FIOS router to one capable of 802.11ac wifi (the highest wifi speed available). This in turn causes problems to legacy devices which will not function. Such a router gave two accesses, one through 2.4gHz and one through 5gHz. So when you select your WiFi, you will see "two" of your router, let's say "Fios G1100 2.4gHz" and "Fios G1100 5gHz". According to the setup, your phone should be connected via the 2.4gHz Wifi. So the first step I did was simply download the phone app for my iPhone (the box has a QR code for iOS and Android so just point your camera to it and click to get the right app in the store), if not just type Faleemi". The setup took only a couple of minutes, plugged in the camera, ran the app and select "Add a new camera". I chose the second method beginning on page 7 of the Quick Setup Guide. I did have to unplug and plug back in to get both the red and blue lights to function. But then its done in less than three minutes. While the manual did state that you must connect using the 2.4gHz Wifi on your phone, this is only true for initial configuration. Once your camera is setup, if you have another phone, it will work just fine on the 5gHz WiFi, Just add camera using the option Add existing camera already on the network. Give it a name, enter the camera password and WiFi password and you're good to go. I also appreciate the fact that I received an email with the updated Quick Start Guide in PDF format. The picture quality is good and the night vision is excellent but understand with the infrared you won't get colors. You can also have two way audion so I can talk to my dog and hear the sounds in my living room. The camera also has alarms and motion detection recording capabilities (buy an SD card to insert in the camera for recordings). I don't use those options but its nice to have them. All in all, very happy with the purchase.
Review: Here's why I found it worth five stars... - Here's why this cam gets my 5 stars. (And I am not paid in any way, but only report my experiences). 1st, the eager customer service; they are amazingly receptive and want to please and they get my FIVE stars for how persistently they communicated back and forth with me as I tried to install this cam using my Macbook, and a separate wifi router, and taking it OFF internet access while still working perfectly, locally. This cam is made for smartphone users and it's great for that. I bought it for monitoring on my laptop in real time by using wifi that is NOT on the internet. I succeeded and will show how, below. I used a secondary wifi router that I had already and not being used. So, I activated it, set my laptop connection settings to it, and using the Faleemi app I can now stream the camera video in real time and only within the range of the wifi broadcast signal itself. Nice! I still have my main wifi router working on my desk to supply internet to my computers. The Faleemi cam is only configured to use the wifi signal from that dedicated second router that has no internet. And that is the signal I can watch from my Macbook. 2nd the system is fast. Using local wifi just feet away produces almost zero perceptible lag. Cars go by on the roadway as smooth as ever. Night bugs fly thru the infrared like a streaming blur. This is nice stuff. 3rd is all the many features of this cam for its low price. The picture is quite clear and with little lag streams smoothly. I have it mounted on a porch and can rotate it via the app on my laptop. I love that. There is no zoom (at this price) but with its clarity and resolution you can see clearly far down the street in daylight, as if by naked eye. And at night the IR is good for illuminating the ground 75 to nearly 100 feet out, and if someone were walking toward the cam even further you might easily catch their motion. In my case I see a street light something over 100 yards away and with homes lit beyond it with their windows, would allow me to see an approaching figure 200 yards out and perhaps more. That’s motion, not clear features, of course. When they walked into the glow of the street lamp, I can tell if dressed as male or female, short or long hair, hat or bare head, something begin carried or nothing in the hands… for oh a good 120 yards out with the combination of my now IR lit yard, and the street light's large glow beyond. Yeah, I’m pleased with that. 3rd it functions well. InfraRed activates at sundown and will turn itself off automatically otherwise. The IR "illuminates" something very near as if a standard security light were shining down from above on it. I could see a mouse if it dared scamper out there in the dark. 4th There are complaints here that it’s a cheap toy, yet it should last as long as the electronic components inside it last, like any electronic device we purchase, and too, if we take care how we handle it physically. I can’t gauge when the electronics might die on this any more than an electronic clock, or microwave. At this price it’s proved worth buying for my own experimenting with it, and I’m pleased so far. Here is how I installed it on Mac: 1. I activated the Linksys router and logged into it from my Mac using the standard Linksys IP address: 192.168.1.1. 2. There I configured a new wifi LAN and named it and set passwords. You will need to connect this router to internet to set it up so it can download updates. Later when the set up is complete and running, you just pull the internet cable out and, boom.. your transmitting wifi over local airwave and not onto the global internet. 3. Then I turned on the cam at this point, and the router then “saw” it as a new device, and so I successfully connected the cam to the router by using the WPS button. Easy. 4. Then, I opened the "Faleemi Plus" app (V1.0.2 for Mac) and set up the cam inside it using the IP method, NOT the p2p method for standard installation, (you just click a different tab in the Faleemi app), and there I renamed the cam and created a new password, and it succeeded. 5. Then the cam was live and streaming online locally within it’s limited wifi range and protected by my strong password and no connection to internet at all. 6. Then to view the camera stream, I right-click it in the Faleemi app left panel, and select "web access" from the little dropdown box. 7. My Mac then prompts me for the password for what it calls, “IPCamera Login,” and I enter it. This is my Faleemi password that I created. 8. This takes me to IP address 192.168.1.xxx which is an application with two viewer methods available. Mode 1 will not work for me. Mode 2 opens the camera and I can view the live stream in a Faleemi viewing app. Now we’re off and running. This app lacks some of the features of the smartphone version of the Faleemi viewer. But for my purposes it is just what I need. I can take screen captures easily on a Mac anyway with a few keys. Now, for TWO general helpful TIPS that I realized in trying to install Faleemi cam to my Mac. This MAY apply to Windows too, I don’t know: 1. you MUST press the WPS at the wifi router (or its software) BEFORE 15 seconds has passed during the cam setup, when you get the solid blue light! Otherwise, you must redo the sequence on the cam all over again. No, the cam is NOT broken; you just weren’t fast enough. The instructions I saw never told me this. 2. you MUST login with the default “admin” username and password “123456” during set up! Only then, after setup is complete, can you access the Advanced settings (by right-clicking your camera in the left pane of the Faleemi app), and there you can change the name and password. The Faleemi Youtube (that I watched) does not show this as it should; it shows changing those to a NEW username and password during setup process, and that won’t work. Good luck in your experiences with this nice little cam for a nice little price. I hope this has helped. I’ve been pleased with mine, and that my own little experiment at a slightly alternate use has proved successful.

- Storage Options and Data Security: Faleemi home security camera works with Micro SD for local storage and also offers 30-day free trial of cloud storage. The cloud subscription is optional, which is nice if using for security as you will still have the video if your camera is broken or stolen. Note: 1. This is a corded electric camera. 2. This is an 802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz WiFi camera, please connect the security camera to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally Found a Camera I Can Use!
*by N***E on November 10, 2017*

Finally after trying a few other cameras, I have found the one for me! You can check other reviews I've written on other cameras from other companies and you'll see I hold nothing back as far as how frustrated I have been trying to find a night vision home camera that not only works properly but records the way I need it to. First off let me start by saying that the customer service had me at hello. Even before I received the camera, they were there to answer all of my questions. They did so quickly, politely and most of all....patiently! After I got the camera and set it up, I still hounded them with a ton more questions and again, they were absolutely fantastic in making sure every one of them was answered. Thank you for that! Now to the camera...I primarily use this at night so quality night vision was a must. This delivers with a very clear picture and there is virtually no blur when someone walks into the frame. I had another one that any movement would result not just in a blob like blur but then after they left the frame the 'ghosting' would still be there from their presence. There is none of that with this unit. The sound is pretty decent as well and for the record, the audio does record with the video. I say this because the same camera I spoke of above...the audio did not record onto the sd card with the video. It picks up voices pretty clearly but I will admit that it's better in smaller rooms. However, in larger rooms, voices can be picked up as well, just for playback, I recommend headphones. Regular laptop speakers you may not hear the talking as well. Having said that, sound-wise, it is great at picking up any noises that happen in the house from a tap on the window to a tv in the other room. This for me is not only great for recording but while I'm monitoring it as well. Having the videos record and save to sd card in MP4 format is great and I don't have to convert them in order to watch them. This was a major issue for me and a big reason I like this camera so much. The app is great. I can record from it and play it back (just remember to go back and save the videos from the app to your ipad or iphone) and the controls are nice and sensitive. I'm able to move the camera around, change the brightness on my screen, take a screen shot and more. I have one issue with it and that is when I use the mic from the app to talk through the camera into the room it's recording...it works great on my iphone but doesn't work on the ipad. This is minor for me but still wanted to mention it. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of a tech glitch involving the night vision at start up.I move my camera around a lot which involves plugging it in at different times and in different places. About 8 out of 10 times if I start it up in a room that is already dark, the night vision comes on in a bright/dark pink color. Still works and it will still record as pink night vision, but the pink is like an 80's nightmare. I've tried a few different things to stop this from happening, even addressed it with customer service and they suggested a few tips. But I figured out what works for my unit is this...turn on a light, let the night vision go off and have it record for a couple of seconds in regular mode and then turn the light back off. When the night vision kicks in, it should be fine. For me, this is a great camera and I may get a second one eventually. After all the problems I had with the others I tried, this one saved my sanity. I guess the best was saved for last.
