ORIGINAL REVIEW (scroll down for update): I bought this jacket because I needed a decently thick, waterproof jacket because I am moving to the mountains for college. I absolutely despise jackets and never wear one even if the temperature gets below freezing where I live, (which it almost never does), because I just get hot and started sweating extremely easily. However I knew I had no choice now because I would be in a lot colder weather than I'm used to where the winds make it seem 10x colder, but I wanted a jacket that wasn't bulky but would keep me warm. I bought this because I thought it fit that bill and I was disappointed, but that may be because I got the wrong size. I feel like this doesn't fit like it looks in the picture as well if that makes sense. In the picture it looks like it would fit flat and to sort of your figure, but it doesn't. I usually wear a medium in all jackets, so I ordered one, because although I have a small torso, my shoulders are broad and my upper arms are a bit thicker so I need room to move them. I am 5'3" and 150 pounds. However I think this jacket is somewhat large. It kind of bulges out in the back and sides and fits a lot thicker. If I were to wear layers under this it would fit nicely, but I know I am not because I get hot SUPER easily and knew layers plus this jacket would be too much no matter how cold it was. Although I have not tried it out in cold weather, (which I will update this review when I do), I am 100% positive short sleeves and this jacket would be plenty warm for me. The lowest it will get on average where I am going will be around 20 degrees Fahrenheit with "feels like" temperatures being ever colder. I think I am going to return this for a small and see how that works for me. If you plan on layering, I would say order what size you normally do unless you are like me and always size up for jackets. However, this jacket is really nice material and I know it will hold up well in the weather I am moving to. It has plenty of outside and inside pockets to hold all your items and keep them dry. It's a steal for the price. UPDATE: I returned this jacket and reordered for a size small, blue jacket (which looks a lot cuter btw) and I love it, even though I hate jackets. It fits like I expected the first one to. It fits perfect for me to wear short sleeves or a thin long sleeve underneath, which is what I was planning on doing because I know this jacket will keep me plenty warm. I couldn't wear anything thicker than a medium thickness long sleeve shirt because of how it fits. It is a bit tight around my upper arms and shoulders, but a lot of my clothes fit like that because I am broad-shouldered and my upper arms are thicker, and it's fine with me. I love this jacket 100x more now that I ordered a smaller size, and a different color. If you're smaller than me (I'm 5'3 and 150 pounds, small torso and thick bottom half) and plan on layering, I think a small would work. However if you are my size or a little bigger and want to layer, order a medium. I usually wear size small shirts and the small fits me like I want and where I wouldn't have room to layer. I usually order medium jackets, but that size was too big and bulky for me in this jacket. So base what size you need off of this, but even if you don't like it, you get your return in the form of a gift card the day you drop your package off and can receive your new jacket in 2 days for free, so it's really no hassle. I love my jacket and am happy I returned and re-ordered! I will update my review to tell how well it holds up in mountain snow, cold, rain, and wind.

Perfect jacket for winter. Keeps you warm. True to size and tons of pockets

There are several versions of these jackets: this one I got by mistake, as I had clicked on a different listing of the Wantdo jacket with the full fleece lining inside, and instead I received a jacket with the powder skirt and snaps to snap around your hips interior version. I had bought a similar one in the fall, with the snow/powder skirt (also black color) and liked it, as it was a better version than many of these jackets (not being too cheaped out like some other brands). Now I have 2 of the snow/powder skirt verison in black color, when what I was going for: was to have one with the powder skirt and one with the full fleece lining. The difference between both powder/snow skirt jackets is: 1 - has a white wantdo logo on the right side of the zipper, no logo on the hood, and the chest pocket is on the left of the zipper. 2 - has a yellow wantdo logo on the left chest side of the zipper, a yellow logo on the hood, and the chest pocket on the right side of the chest. (note: you ca use a black magic marker over the logo to darken it if you don't like yellow). The 2nd jacket is a tiny bit thinner and more lightweight, but fits a bit larger which is fine, as I wanted more room for layering (both are a size large). (I had forgotton I had already tried the Wantdo jacket with the full fleece lining in the fall) but I was not nuts about it, b/c it was kind of thin and did not seem as substantial as some older versions of these ski jackets, and I felt too thin, so I returned it. *The problem I was encountering is that I had purchased the same type jackets around 2021-2023: The older versions of these ski jackets (in all the different brand names that are all basically the same type jacket) are way better, you can tell the difference right away. (They all changed after around 2022/23 to being thinner, and cheaper materials due to inflation). But the Wantdo brand seemed to still be a bit better than the rest, although still not as good as the older versions either, but still better than other ones out there. While there are a few versions of the 'powder/snow skirt with snaps on the interior' Wantdo jackets, those are better than the full fleece version of these jackets (which I felt was thinner and seemed cheaper). These with the snow skirts fit well, retain warmth inside when wearing outdoors, have the thumbhole cuffs, look attractive, are waterproof, etc. I wear these for layering over a puffer coat or sherpa lined puffer for warmth and stay very warm that way. I am 5'4", around 135#'s and the size large works well as an outer shell for layering. You just do not always know what type you will get when ordering, so check the listing carefully and you might have to return/exchange until you get the version you want. I am pretty happy with this order even though it was by mistake I got the snow skirt version again, as I now have 2 different types that fit a bit differently as one is a bit lighter weight, and fits larger for layering.

Great quality, warm, water and wind proof! Great for PNW’s winters. Bought one for myself and was so happy I ended up buying one for my mom. Able to layer underneath and still not look bulky. I sizes up for both me and my mom and was total happy with the fit. Arm length was perfect and there is plenty of room throughout the shoulders. Made of great quality and stitching, zipper is amazing and doesnt stick or jam. Definitely worth the price!

Best winter coat I’ve ever owned! Very warm and stays zipped and in place during every activity. If you’re looking for something heavy and warm, this is your coat! Jacket is heavy, but I wouldn’t say bulky. You’re still able to move freely

This jacket has been a lifesaver. I have recently gained weight and my coats didn't fit in the hips. As I am working on losing weight, I didn't want to spend a lot of money to be warm. I read reviews and looked at several jackets. This one looked good, had a great price point and excellent reviews. I have been kept warm and feel like I look good. It has not been tested in wet weather, but wind and cold, the coat had been wonderful. I would highly recommend this coat to anyone that wants a quality coat at a great price.

This is the Second Wantdo Jacket I have purchased. This one is very similar to the one I use for old because I put a rip in it. I love these Jackets!!! They are very comfortable and warm. Not as bulky as the Columbia coats. Did I say warm, they really are the warmest coat I ever had. I wear it ice fishing, for a mile walk all winter long, wear it in Alaska on the water while fishing and it keeps me warm. I will not go away from this brand. If you want warm, purchase this coat. It really is waterproof and stops the wind. This Jacket doesn't have the thumb hole like the last one, but I don't miss it. Oh I forgot to mention, they are true to size.

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter. I would say they fit kind of small. I bought her a large (take into account, shes tall and has a bigger build) but the quality seems great, she really likes it and says it feels like it will be really warm.

We bought this for my fiancee for a trip, so far we have been in temps as low as -17 and she said it kept her nice and warm.
