This THINKWORK bolt extractor kit worked exactly as I hoped. I had a completely stripped bolt that just kept spinning, and I honestly thought I’d have to drill it out. I used the 7mm extractor from the set, tapped it on, and it bit down perfectly. With a ratchet, it grabbed the bolt and backed it out without slipping. The sockets feel solid and grip really well, especially on damaged or rounded bolts. Definitely saved me time and frustration. For the price, this kit is 100% worth it if you deal with stripped bolts at all.

Very durable. These bad boys will at times take out a rounded fastener without ANY hammering. I use em on allens a lot. The ridges inside of the flutes give it a great grip and are like questionably durable for the price. Comparable if not better than even a lot of tool truck brands

the only reason this isn't a 5 star is because the extractor sockets are a bit think and do not fit bolts in recessed spaces due to their thickness.

I am replacing brakes all around on my 91 XJ which includes my wheel cylinders for the back drum brakes. I did a whole replacement of everything about 5 years ago and living in the Northeast rust belt especially on the coast is murder on all bolts and fasteners. I was trying to take out the bolts fastening the wheel cylinder and the edges of the bolt just disintegrated with one turn of the wrench. So I go to my local auto parts store and of course they didn't have any bolt extractors that I needed and just for one 3/8 extractor would have cost over 10 bucks. I looked up Amazon and found this set. I read the reviews and almost all were positive. I recieved it this morning and in less than 5 minutes I had both bolts out. The only issue for me (which has nothing to do with the extractor set)was the space I was limited to tapping on the extractor to the bolt between the leaf spring and the backing plate which is no more than 9 inches. This set is not cheap by any means. They even have a gripping ring around the extractor if you need to use a pair of vise grips. I had an extractor set from a very well known manufacturer and had paid almost 200 dollars over 10 years ago. Unfortunately they were stolen and I have to say this set worked just as great as the other set. Some people had mentioned about the case and when you get them they are scattered around inside the case which happened in my case as well,this is an easy fix. Just cut out a piece of thick cardboard to fit and using the foam piece it came with I shook it violently and everything stayed in place, but for the price I paid, I wouldn't care if they came in and plastic sandwich bag!! Lol. Just a little advice for anyone who doesn't have experience with extractors, if you PB blasted the bolts/nuts, just make sure that you hit it with a generous amount of brake cleaner. You want a clean and dry surface on the bolt/nut to minimize any slippage and loss of grip. I can't see how anyone could give this set anything less than 5 stars. I highly recommend this set. For what you pay, you can't go wrong.

i am a professional mechanic over 40 years in dealership i know tools ! this set is high quality and after narrowing one from a fellow technician i bought two sets one for home work great i spent 25 minutes trying every trick i know to remove stripped head bolt that was very tight i had a grip here and there wouldn’t budge this tool took it right out no fuss !

Arrived today, immediately solved the problem. In this case I was r&r a ceiling fab. Previous intaller ran 3" wood screws in and wiped out the head. In a tight spot you can't get a grip with visegrips. This bit the roubd headed wood screw immediately came right out. Definitely a kit I am happy to add to my collection of special tools. BTW, the price was worth it on the first job. I am a mechanic, electronic tech, and IT Director. If I am doing a job and beed a special tool I go buy it and add it to the collection. Within reason of course. Some equipment you may need to finance. This solves that aggravation of a stripped head.

I thought I had to buy new rear lenses for my car because last time I tried to remove them, the 4 nuts holding each rear lights lens, were so tight that the hex nuts stripped and I was thinking that the only way to remove them was to cut each bolt off...this if course would have meant new lense replacement at a cost of $400 each. But then I came across this remover kit and boy am I glad that I did because it saved me well over $800 in unnecessary expenses. What I like about this set is that a lot of good thinking has gone into designing their sizes because they go up in functions of millimeter which means you have complete control over badly damaged hex nuts and bolts , regardless of the severity. In my case, some nuts were completely rounded off, with minimal material left, yet I could pick just the right size from the set and easily remove each. They are also good for removing tightly turned undamaged nuts and bolts as the socket digs into the sides of the hex and effortlessly rotates them loose without slipping and damaging the Hex I definitely recommend the set.
