There is plenty of room on top part (the crown) so I can wear my hair up which prevents me from getting "hat hair." The weave is tight and the hat structure is sturdy. Plenty of room. And, I have a big, wide head. I usually have to buy men’s hats. This one fits well, and between the elastic brim and drawstring, I think it would fit just fine on a normal sized woman’s head as well. The straw is woven well.
