Happy feet!
I had a bunionectomy in February they left me with a very wide right foot. I got fitted for new running shoes at A Snail's Pace and got a pair of Altra's in men's because the width worked better for my surgical foot. Going out on a limb I purchased this pair (different style than my others) without trying them on in person...I love them! At first they were a little difficult to get used to because I found the arch area to be more narrow than my other pair however now I have no discomfort and find them quite comfortable. I wear them to work (i'm a nurse) and also to the gym. I love the reflective colors and get quite a few compliments on them. In light they reflect almost white which is great if you are running or walking at night. I haven't had any problems with the reflective covering peeling or cracking and I wear these daily so they are heavily used. The arch support is great and the shoes are super light. My feet don't sweat in them and I have plenty of room in the toe box to wiggle my little piggies around :)

Love these shoes!
I love the fit. The added room for your toes and zero drop are really great. I've been taking it slow breaking them in so my muscles get used to it, but will be ramping up soon. So far they are really cool. They definitely have a "different" look with the wider toe area, reminds me of small flippers lol... but the reflectiveness is quite eye catching and they are very comfortable just wearing anytime. I'd buy again and recommend them.

A great shoe
Altra's design solved all of my leg issues. I was using a pair of Hoka Clifton 4's. I had pain in my right hip, my right glute, my right calf (gastrocnemius) and my right tibialis (anterior). I picked up the Altra's and my right leg pain started to subside almost immediately. After a month, the pain was gone. Altra's toebox is also very accommodating. These are great shoes, especially if you are running distance.

Good shoe, runs true to size.
Great feel and weight. I'd read so many other reviews about Altra running a size (or 1/2) small, that I opted for a half size larger than I normally wear. I think my normal (size 10) would have been perfect. As it is, these are a little to big, but nothing I can't live with. I've put several miles and two races behind them, and they run smooth and easy. Plenty of cushion without being too "spongy" - responsive.

Comfortable "natural" toe box shape.
The toes splay out when standing/walking/running. Most Altra shoes have the "Footshape" toe box that has room for the toes to spread out. I've had a couple of pairs of oxfords for a long time with a "natural" toe box shape that are very comfortable. Now that I've found Altra, I will never go back to a narrower "normal" toe box in a casual or athletic shoe. I haven't had any problems adjusting to the "zero drop", but haven't noticed a benefit for walking. The reflective holographic cast of the Impulse Flash upper looks very cool. I used the Altra website shoe finder/size wizard to help find the right size. These Altra Impulse Flash street/running/crosstraining shoes and the Altra Lone Peak 3.0 trail runner/hiking shoes fit a little more snugly than similar New Balance athletic shoes with a slightly high instep, but sizing is the same for me. So far the arch support for me is OK.

Poor build quality
Bought these for one of my sons. They lasted 3 months before falling apart. The Altra emblem began peeling off first on one side of one shoe - it's totally gone now. Half the emblem on the other side came off. The outsole is painted all around the side of the shoes - that began wearing off almost immediately all around the toe box. The outer fabric material of the upper is cracked all over - looks terrible. One of the shoe laces began coming unraveled - now, it looks like it went through the shedder. The sole underneath is worn out - traction is a minimal. In short, I hoped they would be great shoes for my son. Instead, they didn't hold up any more than I would expect a $10 pair of generic shoes from Wal-Mart. It's a shame. I have had five pairs of Altras and really liked several of them. I was hoping to pass the love of Altras on to him, but it surely won't happen with this pair. To be fair, boys put shoes to the test. The only problem here is that these shoes failed the test.

I'll be buying this shoe again....If they do not change the design.
This is the best running shoe I have ever put on. This shoe was made to fit my flipper feet. They will probably change the design in a few months and ruin the whole dang thing just like they have done in the past with their other shoes. Enjoying them while they last. I am coming from the lone peak 1.5(I ordered a bunch when they were available) and the one, the sizing was spot on.

No Volume but otherwise a good value
I have reviewed Altra shoes before and gave them 5 stars. But these shoes have very little "volume" in the toe box. Yes they are wide in the toe box and thats good. But volume is important too. Also, I have found that for people who have a longer 2nd toe (than the 1st toe) You have to order the shoe MUCH larger than expected. At least one full size larger. Otherwise the 2nd toe will butt up against the tip of the shoe ... its the shape unfortunately which really is not designed for this foot shape (larger 2nd toe).
