Review: Great little AP. - I've used a couple of these (so far) in my house, managed by an ER707-M2, and they're working nicely. 5GHz signals aren't great through multiple walls, so multiple access points are required if you're planning to cover an entire building with strong WiFi. They were picked up by my router instantly however, easy to configure, and speeds/stability have been just fine. TP-Link sometimes get a bad press but I've not had any issues in the months they've been running. Up close I can get 550MBps which is about as good as it gets for 5GHz AX WiFi, and a few rooms over I'm averaging around 200MBps which again, is to be expected. At the price / performance point these offer, they make a great addition to a home or small business WiFi setup, and can easily be expanded on with more of the same AP being placed elsewhere.
Review: At last, a solid internet connection down in my garden office! - Like an muggle in thrall to a wizard, I stand agog at this technology. The white circle of connectivity and its luminous blue halo is mounted on my garden office wall, a shrine to the glory of the Internet gods. For so long I was mired in grindingly slow browsing, with frequent periods of intermittent reception at the altar of the false god Powerline Networking. But now with a fixed ethernet cable from the main house router affixed to this amulet, I have seen the light, and the light is a blindingly fast, rock-solid, constant connection. All hail the great god EAP610! (To be fair, its name could be more poetic.) Btw, I hired an electrician to install this for me, so I have no idea how easy it was. I seem to remember he struggled slightly with configuring it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What do you need to do if your installing more than one in terms of devices connecting and disconnecting?**
A: In this scenario I'd recommend adding an Omada Controller into the mix, it will help load balance and move devices between access points depending on signal strength etc If you have a local server at home your can download and setup the software or buy the little standalone OC200 device. Excellent bit of kit and give's you a central point to manage all your access points.

**Q: Do I just need to run one cat6 cable from this to my switch.as want to get relevant cables in place before I floor attic??**
A: If you do not have a switch with Power over Ethernet (PoE) then you will need to have a mains socket nearby. So you just need power and cat5/6 cable.

**Q: How can a 300mbps wireless interface have a 100mbps ethernet port on it? what happens to the missing 200mbps?**
A: You'd be able (in theory) to get faster speeds between two devices connected wirelessly to the AP; but you would get maximum of 100Mbps to anything connected via the Ethernet port. So if you had two laptops connected to the AP, they would share the 300N connection. If you had network storage in another part of the house on the wired connection, you could pull data from it only at the Ethernet speed.

**Q: Is it Poe**
A: The EAP115 supports full POE, which is what we have in our setup here. The EAP110 however, is just passive POE. You can use the included power supply instead if you prefer.
