## Description

The Sandman Book Three : Gaiman, Neil, Thompson, Jill, Talbot, Bryan: desertcart.in: Books

Review: Explores the world of sandman in a beautiful way - Book was delivered with minor damages and the packaging was not appropriate. For the stories it's Neil Gaiman with different artists telling some of the most unique stories in the world. Especially in this volume we finally meet their brother. One of the beest in the series
Review: Beautiful, glossy books, a great read. Absolutely hate The Netflix promo label on all my favourite books, so I get stickers to cover them from Etsy.

In Book 3, the Sandman's amazing story continues to unfold. We finally get to know more about Dream's two siblings, Destruction and Delirium, in the "Brief Lives" story arc (issues #41-49). Delirium and her mannerisms are depicted very well; and Destruction's dog with an attitude is unforgettable too. As usual, characters that appeared in earlier books emerge again with further developments (for example, the child Daniel will undoubtedly be more important in the final Book 4). In "Brief Lives", it also becomes apparent that Dream's character/personality has evolved through the sequence of events since his escape from imprisonment in "Preludes and Nocturnes" (Book 1). He is no longer cold and indifferent to people around him. Issue #50 (titled "Ramadhan") is particularly noteworthy for the beauty of its artwork, colouring, and calligraphy-style text. And there is also the theme of 3s embedded into the story. I think it is the standout issue in Book 3! "World's End" (issues #51-56) is the relative weak link here in this volume. It is a collection of unrelated stories held together by the "reality storm" construct. Travellers between realms got stranded in the World's End inn where they had to wait out the storm. To pass time, the travellers regaled each other with their tales. To me, these tales could just as well be a part of the earlier "Fables and Reflections" collection. Only the last two chapters, issues #55 (titled "Cerements") and #56, are important to the main story arc. Both chapters adumbrate the tragedy that will unfold in Book 4. Generally, the amazing blend of fantasy, real world, mythology, and history is maintained in Book 3. I truly enjoyed Books 1-3 and I am looking forward to reading Book 4!
