I don't understand the pic of the ones with 2 round holes on top?** A: The two round holes are for the screws that clamp down on the wires. I prefer those to the spring ones, as the connection is more secure, both physically and electrically. The spring ones can melt with too much current, but they are more convenient for making the splice. In both cases they connect two wires together end to end. **Q: What gauge wires do these accomodate?** A: 22 gauge(solid) is ideal, 14 gauge max. Keep in mind I'm pretty sure these connectors are designed for hobby applications using no more than wall wart power supplies, maybe 300 watts max? **Q: what's the AWG rating on this?** A: I agree with others, and am annoyed that the sellers don't seem to answer these questions often. A 10A rating would likely imply a design based on 1.5 mm^2 conductor and therefore approximately 16 AWG as a baseline, with some tolerance. even if a 10 AWG will 'fit', the clamping mechanism may not work on that size and the screws may not have enough thread to tighten up if it is stuffed full. There are similar screw terminal products that are listed (third party tested for safety) and labeled for US wire sizes in any big box store across the US. the quick clamp version may be ok for dinking around with your arduino for some prototyping but don't look like anything I would bet my homeowners insurance on. installing unlisted LED lights with unlisted connectors and causing a fire will make any fire insurance claim interesting to say the least. **Q: What wire sizes can these reasonably handle 24g, 22g, 18g, 16g, 14g, 12g?** A: I am using mine on 24awg but they can easily fit 12 gauge for size.
