Works very well in the car and easily carried into motel room, etc. If you have an adapter you can plug it into the wall and don't even need to unload it. But the best part - this company is awesome! Thirteen months later we had problems with the part of the cord that plugs into the car outlet. I contacted the company for advice and they sent us a new power cord. I have never had a company with that extent of service. Great cooler, great company.
